I might have to dial back Accuracy from 3 to 1 on Drives since I’m hitting the fairway at a very high % on Normal, 3-Click

DarthRambo, what difficulty do you have your 3-Clicks at? And will reducing Accuracy change the width of the white line for 3-Click swing settings?

Edit: the changes didn’t do much so I’m going to try to have it on Hard but increase Driving accuracy to balance it out. On Normal, it felt too easy to get Perfect-Perfect as the 3 Click was moving too slow which yielded nearly perfect fairway landings 99% of the time for me.

I have swing difficulty on normal and putting on hard. I probably just suck at it more lol. I tried hard difficulty once and that was not fun for me lol.

Accuracy lowered only increases your dispersion area as far as I know. I don't think the white line shrinks. I could be wrong though.

Bandon Dunes was pretty easy overall as expected. But with a final round of only 69 I finished tied for 2nd at -14. Juan Murray wins at 19 under. Really enjoy quick play personally. I know a lot of ppl seem to prefer 2Ks method of quick play one full round only. But EA's method is far better IMO.

Onto the KFT playoffs coming in ranked 3rd. I'll play all 18 here and I'm confident I'll win the championship.

I've found this as well. There's no reason to spend coin or points on Power. If you do, it makes it too uneven against the AI. I haven't upgraded the putting beyond the first level that gives you the Texas Wedge. I've spent all of my "earnings" on maxing Accuracy and Control in Approach and Short Game, and it's been the perfect balance. I've still only won 1 tournament (almost done with my 2nd season), but I am in the top 5-20 every time 2 runner ups, and 40th in the cup standings, averaging -5 to -20 under par for 4 complete rounds each tournament. Before maxing out those specs I rarely shot under par. This is on Tour mode with everything turn off but putting grid.

Doesn't really hurt me in the long run anyway.

^^This as well. I "sold" all of my earnings that I had on all of the Recovery specs and turned them all down to zero. It's a huge benefit, it almost makes up for how little penalty there is with rough and sand shots. Power low, Recovery zero, putting about 1/3 the way up so you at least have the Texas Wedge, and then pile on the Accuracy and Control for Approach and Short Game. It's definitely been the best balance of being challenged, doing well, and also occasionally sucking.

Exactly. Even from my first rounds in pre release days, having no earnings to up Power (or anything else), I am consistently in the top 10 for average driving distance and FIR. Power down and focus on the short game lol.

At least EA can be commended for giving us enough specs, sliders/attributes to tune the game to suit our fun factor. I don't want to win every tournament or even more than a few a season. We've all played it enough now to really dial in what works for us. Not sure how that all translates to societies and online tournaments, but it works in career mode and playing with a buddy online.

Yes sir! Once you get it balanced to what works for you the gane is a complete joy to play and a true gem of a golf game. Zero points in all driver attributes, and 0 on recovery seem to be the minimum needed at least.

The ability to create multiple characters is useful if you compete in online tournaments. You can max out that guy with all the specs you want or need. Save a separate character for career mode vs the AI, which is the bread and butter of this game.

Looking for some like minded sim players to play online with. If you and your budd u don't mind, I'd like to join you guys playing online for fun.

I think I found my perfect sweet spot if you want to try 3-Click on Hard. Have your Drive Accuracy at 9 to balance it out. Driving is challenging but feels fair when you don’t hit the fairway. I just found that with 3-Click on Normal, the moving slider was too slow for me and I was hitting the fairway too easily.

I will increase Accuracy and Control since I’m hitting less than 60% on drives to the fairway lol and it’s really hinder my scoring since my ball often goes into the sand or rough.

With Recovery at 0, I’ll have to shoot my way back to the fairway first before shooting again and try to get onto the green. Essentially 2 shots are used if I’m in the sand or rough which is challenging and great! Sand and rough means something now unlike before which was treated as a normal shot.

Can’t emphasize that this was a great find by you with Recovery at 0. It makes it 100% more realistic when you’re not on the fairway or green.

Definitely the best discovery of how to balance this game, this and low/zero power. It's essential to realistic scores, distances and difficulty from what should already be tough lies and hail mary shots that aren't in this game (yet).

If or when they patch all of this stuff, we will all be scrambling to change all of this to match what they've done again lol. It's fun though. Loving the game.

Not sure if they’ll change anything but now I think of these attributes settings as gameplay sliders. I’ve dialed in on my “sliders” and having a blast with this game, balancing the difficulty and realism.

Nothing wrong with this approach at all, unless you have a friend that you want to play online. All online play is basically a waste of time and lack of earnings to buy stuff, it's only value is if you're willing to play a friend and can be bludgeoned into not letting the lack of Turn Play discourage you. Or the societies or tournaments, which I just haven't warmed up to yet.

Same here. Like I said the only reason to up the putting slightly is to have the Texas Wedge to putt from off the green. It's a waste to add any more to it beyond that.

Wolf Creek just isn't fun is all for me. Not too hard except that 3rd hole is impossible to get birdie it seems. But it's very annoying to have to do math for elevation every single shot. Just not a fun course to play m. I couldn't imagine actually paying real money to play there in real life. I'd never make it through 18 holes that's for sure lol

Everything you've said and what I just read before your post about Wolf Creek, I agree with. My problem with it is that it just sticks out like a very underdeveloped, first time with the course designer course from 2k. Everything about it looks "cheap". Not to mention the crazy distances and elevations. But the main thing for me is it just looks like poo compared to all of the other courses.

I will definitely give this a go for a couple practice rounds and see how it goes. Lord knows I have enough skil points to put drive accuracy that high lol. Great find and thinking on this.
