I accidentally flushed all my VC by hitting the wrong button and reverting all my stats that I had paid VC to change. From what I'm hearing, it's going to take me forever to get those back. EA Sports suddenly doesn't look so bad.

If you did an attributes respec you should have a bunch of "owned AP" that you can add back to your character for free.

I got my golfer to 99 ovr and level 100 tonight. I also completed the Club House Pass for season 1, got all my clubs to sapphire, unlocked all my skill trees, plus Titleist and Foot Joy Sponsors to tier 9.

A lot of this was done during the early access for getting the Legends Edition and 30% XP boost.

Even with the XP boost, after the patch, it was a grind fore sure with the VC nerf.

I guess I'll enjoy some created courses before starting on another build.

I’m sorry the game has been out a week and you are already maxed out. That is not a grind.

This is not a knock on you btw, it’s just funny because in the old days, getting a maxed out player would take weeks to months. So it’s just funny to me that you did it in just over a week. Just proves that 2k did in fact make it too easy to level up. But again, it’s awesome that you put in the work for that in a short space of time.

Exactly this. When my player got reset after the patch, I thought I lost all my VC I spent. I realized I just had a ton of free APs and my player was back to an 82 in no time.

So...they are offering twice the XP now, so you can have twice the attribute points sitting around and can’t spend because you don’t have the VC to afford it...

I knew this would happen since they mentioned it in their community post on Thursday. But it really shows how out-of-touch they are with how to fix the problems they created, both with upgrading your character being too easy and now too hard. It’s almost like they want the problem to get worse so there’s more backlash, but that’d be giving them too much credit.

The game, to me at least, is playing online. And to do that on equal footing you need a maxed out character. I've been playing golf games forever and ever and I don't think I've ever thought of improving my character as the game itself. That element has been there going back to the Tiger Woods games but it's always been a nuisance (IMO at least). I just want to play ranked stuff and not be at a disadvantage while doing it. But here we are. Forced to grind a superstar mode to get a player character to the point where they can compete. It's bad.

I could be wrong but online, don’t they also use the same swing difficulty for all? When I tried the TopGolf online, I was definitely on a more forgiving difficulty even though I’m using EvoSwing and on the hardest difficulty offline.

Ranked is under specific settings, not sure about TopGolf.

Ranked Matchmaking is Pro difficulty. TopGolf online is perfect swing, I believe.

EDIT - sounds like TopGolf is on Pro-Am.

Ranked Matchmaking is Pro difficulty. TopGolf online is perfect swing, I believe.

TopGolf is on Pro-Am, like all other casual matchmaking modes.

No I still got my measly 54 VC plus an additional 50 for performing well.

Haha well I shot -7 in the first round for a 3 shot lead, but maybe the game doesn't consider that good enough for even the normal 54 VC let alone anything extra

Anyone else finding the amount of time it takes to level up sponsors in career mode to be excruciating?

I took on Ping as a club sponsor in the Korn Ferry Tour. I have used the limited edition Ping driver since early access. I also now have Ping Blueprint irons from the sponsor rewards and am using them. However, I'm still at Level 4 and have a long way to go to finish. I'm at the week of the US Open in my first season on the PGA Tour.

This is the same way for Nike as my apparel sponsor (I wear a Nike shirt, Nike pants, and Nike shoes each round) and Callaway as my golf ball sponsor (I use a Callaway ball and also Callaway wedges, and wear a Callaway hat all 4 rounds). I think Nike is the highest sponsor I have and their are also Level 4.

I guess sponsor events can give you boosts when they come up before tournaments, but I've gotten just three of them to this point - on top of that, one Callaway one was bugged and I couldn't actually reach the scores to get silver or gold, one for Ping was fine, and then the most recent one was for Nike, and it asked me to hit 12 putts from between 27 and 75 feet. You had to make 3/5/8 of them to earn any boost!

I guess I could have dropped the difficulty down or turned putt previews on, but that was impossible. Best I could do was make 2 out of 12 after trying 5 times or so.

And I know you can make some sponsors cover all three areas - clubs, balls, and apparel. But not all sponsors can do that. Ping and Nike can only be used for clubs and apparel, respectively.

I was just about to get the Blueprint irons but my career mode is now experiencing the freezing bug where it hangs when trying to enter a round. Awesome stuff.

The grind to get clothes and clubs is kind of absurd since the manufacturers do everything possible to give this stuff to players IRL. Heck, club pros get free OEM equipment so they can say they're playing it when they try to sell the stuff.
