Some good stuff, I haven't noticed screen tearing in the first round I played. I've also had some moments where the green beads lied with max green reader skill so hopefully that happens less often/not at all. I don't know how Ranked Tours wasn't paying out before, but good to know that it's supposed to lol. I got 2,400 VC when I loaded into the mode, this is a pretty good change for that mode that makes the entry fees actually make sense now. A good thing on the VC side, granted the much larger concerns with general VC earning are still there and unaddressed. Also while we don't know right now what Ranked Tours payouts are actually like per tournament, I'm guessing it will mostly benefit just those that finish in the top 20% or so. Splitting leaderboards based on rank would go a long way to make it more worth it for everyone imo.

I doubt their changes in MyCareer did anything to simulated results, but I did a test simulation. Still seeing several tournaments with 10-15 strokes separating the top 5, although only saw 2 tournaments with a 10+ stroke margin of victory. Also there wasn't one completely dominant player, the top player in my FedEx Cup rankings was Ludvig with 2 wins and 22/29 top 10s with only a 900 point lead over Rory and a 2k lead over 3rd place.

PGA 2K25 gameplay is legitimately ‘Golf Excepcionales’ . Could not want for more at the moment. Nuanced, challenging and definitely worthy of the Evolution swing mechanic title.

It’s a ways behind the curve for 2025 but it’s serviceable if you sit from a distance.
Literally cannot see myself playing online because I’m not paying to compete. I’ll stick with the career & casual rounds.

Still experiencing the screen tear albeit it more subtle and not as jarring as before the patch.

Update: it’s still bad as ever. Playing alone Grove in career mode and it’s bad.

I wish the "Rivals" actually provided some sort of rivalry. I'd rather my rival be near the top of the leaderboard rather than hovering around the cut line. I want someone to hate, to cheer against.

I've played 4 rounds since the patch and not noticed one bit of screen tearing on my end. There has been some bad patches of lag at times though, thankfully not during my swing.

The patch fixed the career mode freezing bug (when loading into a course at the beginning of a round) so that's a huge win right there.

Also sounds like the patch fixed the issue where PS5 players could not play LiDAR courses...haven't tried it myself, but seen multiple reports of PS5'ers playing metatropic's Tobacco Road.

That's a good report to hear. I cancelled a tournament at Tobacco Road in the Society I manage because I found out that PS5 owners couldn't play lidar courses. I was able to delete the tournament with an hour to spare and sub in a new one at Vice City.

Is there any word on allowing custom courses to be selected on career mode? I assume not due to potential licensing issues but wasn’t sure if the actual reason was given/confirmed for not allowing it.

The only courses you'll be able to use in career mode are ones from the official 2K curated list.

They may add more to that list, like when St Andrews drops in Season 2, but we'll never be able to add in just any user created course, unfortunately.

And I think it 100% has to do with licensing...they used to have a Solo Society feature in The Golf Club games where you could essentially build your own custom career mode, complete with customizable AI players, and could use any course you wanted. The last game to have that in the series was TGC19. After they went all-in on the PGA Tour license in 2K21, Solo Societies went away and "My Career" started.

Just played a couple rounds for the first time post-patch and the screen tearing on PS5 is definitely better, but I also had more framerate/lag issues now. Played MyCareer rounds at Huntington Sound, and scout camming in to the green on a couple holes led to some very noticeable dropped frames.

Maybe that’s what I’m seeing now. FR Drops were bad with scouting camera and then when ball was landing on the green at Lone Grove.

Yes I figured that. I know you can pick the courses available made by 2k, whether real or fantasy. I was hoping they’d change it so it could be like the old TGC games, but as you mentioned it’s completely understandable due to licensing. Hoping we get some more courses so we have more to rotate for majors.
