Re: PGA Tour 2K25 Thread - Impressions, Videos, Streams, etc.
This is the big issue so far so hopefully they can sort it. Seems the main problem is that at least half the field will shoot awful over par scores no matter what CPU difficulty is set. Makes the cut a formality to make at most events.
Has anyone else had issue with only 1 pin placement being set for all 4 rounds? There are 4 placements available but in career its defaulted to #1 for each day. Cant find a setting to change.Comment

Just in ranked tours, regular ranked has no buy in. You’re playing for rewards from ranked tours so the buy-in would be like an “entry fee” to the tournamentComment

Re: PGA Tour 2K25 Thread - Impressions, Videos, Streams, etc.
One of my biggest gripes with 2K’s VC “ecosystem” is the fact that it’s limited to whichever game you get the VC on. For example, I play NBA 2K25 doing a full season MyNBA mode. I get 1100-1200 VC per game, yet the only thing to spend that on in that game is MyCareer or MyTeam, neither of which I play. So I have 20K VC sitting on NBA that will never get used. Why can’t I transfer that to another game? Not even just PGA, WWE and Top Spin both use VC in their games. Even if there was a “currency exchange” or some other fee, the fact that I’m going to finish NBA 2K25 with probably 50-80K VC that I can’t use just annoys the hell out of meComment

Cancelled preorder immediately on nextmaker reporting VC debacle. When you get limited play time the cost to level up is criminal.Comment

Re: PGA Tour 2K25 Thread - Impressions, Videos, Streams, etc.
Anyone else finding the amount of time it takes to level up sponsors in career mode to be excruciating?
I took on Ping as a club sponsor in the Korn Ferry Tour. I have used the limited edition Ping driver since early access. I also now have Ping Blueprint irons from the sponsor rewards and am using them. However, I'm still at Level 4 and have a long way to go to finish. I'm at the week of the US Open in my first season on the PGA Tour.
This is the same way for Nike as my apparel sponsor (I wear a Nike shirt, Nike pants, and Nike shoes each round) and Callaway as my golf ball sponsor (I use a Callaway ball and also Callaway wedges, and wear a Callaway hat all 4 rounds). I think Nike is the highest sponsor I have and their are also Level 4.
I guess sponsor events can give you boosts when they come up before tournaments, but I've gotten just three of them to this point - on top of that, one Callaway one was bugged and I couldn't actually reach the scores to get silver or gold, one for Ping was fine, and then the most recent one was for Nike, and it asked me to hit 12 putts from between 27 and 75 feet. You had to make 3/5/8 of them to earn any boost!
I guess I could have dropped the difficulty down or turned putt previews on, but that was impossible. Best I could do was make 2 out of 12 after trying 5 times or so.
And I know you can make some sponsors cover all three areas - clubs, balls, and apparel. But not all sponsors can do that. Ping and Nike can only be used for clubs and apparel, respectively.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 03-02-2025, 11:40 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

On another note, it's only been one event but I do like Andrew Catalon's commentary so far. He suffers from some of the same problems as Luke Elvy (mostly general commentary problems) and can have too little inflection in his voice at times imo, but his voice feels much more tournament-like and I think he pairs with Rich Beem well. I had a putt to win and he said "this putt to win the Aces Championship" which was cool to hear for an unlicensed event.NCAA: Georgia Bulldogs and Clemson Tigers

I think I may have misspoke in my previous post: Nike is the highest rated sponsor I have, but they are tier 5, not 4. I am at tier 3 for Callaway, and tier 4 for Ping (my longest tenured sponsor).Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: PGA Tour 2K25 Thread - Impressions, Videos, Streams, etc.
I can concur with this, I've played my first PGA event and used 2K and TGC as sponsors since the very beginning. Despite 3 wins and 7 events (1 on KFT, 1 on KFT Finals, 1 on PGA) I'm only at levels 5 and 3 with the two. I'm not equipping much TGC gear (because almost none exists), but I have all 2K clubs.

Saw a new seasonal Quest was added...related to the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
2 consecutive birdies at Bay Hill - 100 XP
1 eagle at Bay Hill - 100 XP
Finish a round with a score of 62 or better at Bay Hill - 100 XP
Chapter reward for finishing all that: 50 VC

I accidentally flushed all my VC by hitting the wrong button and reverting all my stats that I had paid VC to change. From what I'm hearing, it's going to take me forever to get those back. EA Sports suddenly doesn't look so bad.There... are... four... lights!Comment
