I played the US Open on default course conditions as well a week or two ago and had the same experience, apparently the default green speeds on Oakmont are Medium Slow? There were no drastic slopes or anything on that setting. If they really changed the default that’s kinda weird, no way they’ll play the same way as this irl.

And as for Oakmont...I recall the default speeds being in the 150 range when I first played it. Shot +11 for the US Open in Season One. It was actually quite great with how difficult it was.
Played it now with the med. slow 98 speeds, and shot -5 and won the event by 5 shots. Felt like putting on velcro...really took away from the experience. Guess I'll have to up the course conditions settings when the US Open comes back around.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 03-29-2025, 12:30 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

I'm still in my first season in my career. Do the courses rotate in the majors?

Re: PGA Tour 2K25 Thread - Impressions, Videos, Streams, etc.
I played couple of tournaments on hard (green speed fast) and very hard (green speed very fast) and the green speeds from my opinion is unfair. One example, I had a 25 foot putt, one foot down hill, I hit the putt 2 feet and it went past the hole and off the green.
I am currently playing the US open and the green speed is fast and it's playing very fair.
Anyone experience this with the green speeds.

Oakmont, on the other hand, was actually designed to handle faster speeds and plays like it should on fast greens. That's why the fact the course is set to "Medium Slow" speeds at default is ridiculous and infuriating.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: PGA Tour 2K25 Thread - Impressions, Videos, Streams, etc.
I didn’t have a ton of trouble with St. George’s greens when I played it in MyCareer (I was on fast greens) but Quail Hollow for sure should be played on default. The worst pin I ran into when I played the PGA with fast greens was on #10 in the 2nd round, the pin was on a slope so severe any miss around the pin would send the ball sailing off the green! And there were multiple other pins in crazy tight locations, like being within 5-10 feet from multiple ridges on the edges of the green.NCAA: Georgia Bulldogs and Clemson Tigers

There's a couple other really dicey pins there that can lead to headaches if you don't play them in very specific ways and have shots from like one angle.
I had issues with that course in 2K23 as well, and it seems no real touch-up work was done on it for 2K25, either.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Presentation in these games is sorely lacking. Andrew Catalon being added to the commentary team for the big events is nice, but everything else (graphics packages for the most part, music, trophy presentation, etc.) is basically the same if it's the US Open or the "Bluff Championship".Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 04-04-2025, 08:21 AM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

The music that’s unique to the majors and Players Championship is nice and adds to the feel of those tournaments personally, but that’s it. There’s like zero commentary specific to the major that could be hyping it up or describing it, aside from the music it feels exactly like any other signature event that also has Andrew Catalon commentating two-thirds of the holes.NCAA: Georgia Bulldogs and Clemson Tigers

Re: PGA Tour 2K25 Thread - Impressions, Videos, Streams, etc.
Some interesting new Quests just dropped:
There's now a "Major Moments" tab, and the current Quest in there is called "Championship Chronicles". It pays out 500 VC for finishing a round with a scored of -7 or better in Ranked Tours, while wearing Sun Day Red apparel.
In the "Season" tab, there's a Wednesday Wear and Earn as usual, asking you to use a Callaway driver on 1, 3, and 5 holes. You get 100 VC and an Evo Tool for that.
There's also a "Rose on the Rise" spotlight one on Rose Zhang. Finish two consecutive rounds of -2 or better on any official course, record 8 birdies or more in a single round and any official course, and finish a round of 62 or better on any official course, and you get a hoodie and 50 VC.Orbis Non SuficitComment
