Career on perfect swing against easy ai is a quick way to vc and xp points.

I made a magician and set the difficulty to pro. I don’t mind the grind. Just practicing with the driver right now before I jump into MyCareer.

It looks like there’s a lot of meat on the bone in this game here.

I don't think anyone can be too disappointed with this one. There was (and I think still is) a playable demo that is accurate to how the game plays. There are tons of difficulty options. For offline, I think almost anyone could set it up to get a good golf experience.

Online is where it is more an issue. Everyone then needs to be a 99 overall. You feel the need to get your clubs upgraded to the top level. You need to unlock the shot types. They don't have a handicap system so the tournaments aren't fun unless you are good enough to shoot ridiculous scores. TGC Tours is a good society option (but still suffers from some of the same competitive things).

I personally wish the club level ups and most of the shot types didn't exist. I think the game plays the best when you are a 65OVR to start the game without extra shot types--especially for online play. Offline you can do whatever you feel recreates golf for you and your difficulty level.

Overall, I think this is probably the best playing golf game there is. Graphically some may prefer EA Golf. Historically some of the Tiger games were fun. But in my opinion PGA2K25 gives you the options to play as a good of a game of golf as any golf video game and I have played most of the video golf games since the 1980s.

I have both this and the now abandoned EA Golf and I think this game looks better. Throw in gameplay and the designer and the virtually unlimited number of courses and a decent player customizer and it makes this game head and shoulders above all others. The new post shot/putt animations are cool as hell too.

Yes the post shot is great besides the phantasy courses. Sadly I rarely play the custom courses because I just cant get out of the grind. So I just try to maximize vc payouts

I have a magician and technician to 99 but realize I am a sculptor.

I never shot scape thus I ignored it but I find with its high correction by default I hit almost straight shots in evo. It has low shot path but the easier swing more then compensates. Also shotscaping giving more ranges is useful for the short game. Being able to fade or draw not so much the accuracy penalty is still extreme at 99 shotshaping

Technician with its low power is in theory better though and may experiment with that build but evo can drive you insane. Also I love that you hit straight shots like in real golf. You are not forced to draw or fade.

The only reason I'd at least upgrade your Greenskeeper up to 85 OVR is to get the Greenreader's perk, which allows you to shrink the green grids when putting.
