I haven't gotten to watch much of Respawn's stream today, but I'm wondering in what sense he felt the presentation is lacking? I think they are still missing on some key production and presentation features that would add a lot to the game, but I'm not sure that what I'm thinking of is what he had in mind.
For example, it still amazes me that this game seems to lose sight of the fact that when you're playing with other players, they should be at points in the vicinity of your player where they would be visible. For example, if I'm hitting an approach shot that it is 10 yards to the left of my playing companion's ball, and mayb 3 yards behind it, I should be able to see that player in my periphery, especially if I was changing aiming direction. It's like you're playing in a vacuum.
Yes, you see other players in multiplayer when they are hitting their shots, and thankfully a couple of angle and offset options are available to that, but why not watch you playing companion from where you'd be standing on the course in real life. It could be 40 yards back down the fairway. I like the alternative offset views, but they seem a little bit canned after you've seen them from the same distance and angle, over and over again.
I also wonder why they never show golfers elsewhere on the course, playing in a different group. I want to see players on adjacent fairways. The course just feels a bit empty without player activity elsewhere on the course.
One thing they did do better in 2K25 was with both the broadcast and dynamic cameras. They really add a lot to the presentation, IMO. There are a number of times though on the reverse landing cameras where I feel the camera height is too low, and all too often, they lose sight of the ball as it dips in to mild valley, and then resurfaces again. These cameras need to be about 3 to 4 feet higher, to be able to keep the ball in sight. Overall though, the camera work is the best I've seen it. It's nice to have some more options here. What's really cool is that in any of them, you can still press right, left, or up on the D pad to manually force the camera to another mode or position on demand... even if you've selected the "Fixed" camera view.
