I'm trying to find info on this, I just preorder the standard edition.

What date is early access for the standard edition.

It it midnight tonight? I'm thinking it might be next week, which is fine.

    Thanks.

There is no Early Access for the standard edition. The release date for standard is next Friday, February 28.

Yes next week, think a pre-order gets you some extra stuff.

Re: PGA Tour 2K25 Early Access Thread - Impressions, Videos, Streams, etc.

Based on the Respawn video I noticed a couple of things. It looks like all clubs right now can evolve to +6 boosts, limited edition clubs start at +4 but can only get to +6 right now so they don't provide a straight competitive advantage over regular clubs, but a progression advantage. Also it seems an additional Evo level (probably +8 boosts) will be available in Season 2, and at first glance it seems every club type will be able to access those boosts when Season 2 starts, so you would likely not need to change your clubs to new Season 2-exclusive ones to access the higher boost level, just evolve your existing ones. Maybe this will change with future seasons, but to me these are both good features on the pay-to-win scale.

However, it seems right now the +6 boosts are just straight +6 boosts that don't come with any drawbacks whatsoever. So you could theoretically go all in on accuracy with your attributes and use power fittings to go +30 power on each club type and make up a lot of a weakness in power. This could become a really big problem when they introduce higher boost levels (it looks like it could go up to +20) if there is no push/pull system in place, I doubt they would end up having +20 boosts with no drawbacks at all but I think it's something to keep in mind. Having the fitting boosts come with a decrease of half the boost in an opposing attrbute (i.e. +6 power comes with -3 contact) would go a long way in making the fitting system more interesting imo.

Don’t believe there is early access for standard pre-order. Legends and Deluxe get access at midnight tonight

Another thing related to this that I saw on another livestream of the game is that you can simply go to the in-game store and buy the specific fittings you want with VC, instead of having to wait to earn them as you play the game. So if you want to have all Power fittings on your fully leveled up Sapphire driver, you can just drop 50 VC per fitting, and get +30 to power just like that.

Watching Apex play now, master difficulty at Oakmont, and he's missing a fair number of fairways with Tiger (99 ovr). Being able to pound fairways in these games is often an issue so it's good to see driver accuracy isn't ridiculous.

Also, Oakmont looks fantastic. I think EA looks better still but this is good enough IMO, plus it's just quicker / smoother to load judging by the demo.

Seen some good stuff today. A good few bugs but that’s expected.

Watched this & Jim has a decent PC but looked acceptable. Bunkers look nothing like Portrush but have seen B101 & Canuck showing a more natural looking Bunker can be made with Terrain Painting.

Not sure what it will address, but I heard Apex or someone mention that there's a patch coming right away today/tomorrow, and he expected at least one more patch before standard launch next week.

I remember 2K23 was pretty buggy at Early Access, too, and within a week or so the worst things were mostly addressed.

Re: PGA Tour 2K25 Early Access Thread - Impressions, Videos, Streams, etc.

Respawn just said in his livestream that:

                            - the pick shot is very overpowered
                            - you can use the base spinner shot very close to the hole - he expects the distance at which you can use it to be pushed back
                            - the Thai Spinner in the clubhouse pass is the best shot type to have in certain situations, and its boosts (which are behind the paywall) are important to have. He expects competitive players will have it and will use it. He hates that the boosts are behind the paid tier, and he specifically called it "pay to win". You can even use it ON THE GREEN...woof.

And some of the "Defy the Impossible" Quests are wild. Guess you have to do them on Perfect Swing!
                            - 2 consecutive albatrosses on an official course for 500 VC
                            - 18 consecutive birdies on an official course for 1,000 VC
                            - 5 consecutive eagles on an official course for 500 VC

MyCareer Pros and Cons from Respawn:

                            Pros:
                            - Better than 2K23
                            - Training is fun, but some are really tough
                            - Sponsor events are great, but some are also impossible
                            - Practice Rounds are straight attribute upgrades for the next event, plus XP boosts
                            - All of these things keep you engaged

                            Cons:
                            - Presentation is lacking
                            - Commentating team is "fine, not the greatest"
                            - Follower system is pretty "worthless". It's just there; has no impact really.
                            - Personality is also just there...it only boosts followers
                            - He expects everyone to skip interviews after a certain point
                            - Majors do not rotate host courses each year

He showed Ranked Tours...it costs VC to enter each event - something like 25 VC.

Also on his stream he showed the event schedule that filled in some of the gaps we had not been told yet. It looks like week 1 is a champion-only event at Spyglass and the alternate event is at TPC Boston, week 3 seems to be at Pinehurst, and week 13 is the Shriners Children's Open at TPC Summerlin. The Farmers Insurance Open and Pebble Beach Pro-Am seem to be at Torrey South and Pebble Beach only, but not 100% sure.

That would echo how it was in 2K23.
