Nascar is the largest growing sport in the United States so why in the world would you not want the game to play the most realistic as possible? EA still has not learned as their other Nascar games have been way too arcadish and therefore turned off the largest crowd of all and that is Nascar sim players. In the past, EA's arcade Nascar games have not sold well so what should that tell you? EA is also notorious for not making much of an effort on many of their games first coming over to Next Generation Systems and thus here is another prime let down after reading that producer's blog. He seems out of touch with what Nascar fans really want and that is a REAL Nascar game just like in real life! I was going to be the first in line to buy the game but after reading all of the things that will be missing this year, I am now on the fence as well. Disappointed............yea been down that pit road before.
I think people here are flawed in thinking that the sim gamer is the largest crowd. Your average Nascar gamer fan is someone who wants to pick up the game and race with friends, rubbin and racing, more arcade and not sim. Would I love a sim Nascar game on a console? Hell yeah I would. Are we really a big market segment? Not in the slightest. EA will get a ton more money from a casual arcade gamer who picks up the game. For that gamer to be fun they don't want to have to put in 100 laps before being competitive and turning well.

I hear that if Dale goes to JGR (Joe Gibbs Racing) he will no he allowed to bring the Bud Sponser with him, there were rumors about them looking at Visa for a sponser. I also heard he could be going to Ginn Racing and in that case he would bring Budweiser with him. So I guess we will wait and see.

Well, Dale can keep his Bud sponsor since he is moving over to Hendrick Racing.

Re: Producer's Blog for NASCAR 08

            Hi all,

The biggest gripes I have about this upcoming game are 1) No driving down pit road for pit stops. I mean, when he gave the reason for no driving down pit road except for in practice, he basically said were not smart enough to drive down pit road. He said: "The fact of the matter is, chaos reigns when you let players drive in those situations. There are so many issues that can come from letting users pit their own cars or run their own pace laps." Also, He says: "It was all designed, but it would have taken up a large chunk of our development schedule to implement this right for year one, and to get it working in both offline and online as well." I believe that is a lie. It couldn't be that hard to implement it. I believe you had that option to drive down pit road even in Nascar 1 for the PC.
2)Did you guy catch that he said: "And I can honestly say this is the most realistic EA NASCAR physics model to date." He said EA physics, I'm sorry but thats not saying much at all.

Sorry my post is so long, but I'm just getting very frustrated w/ EA, not just their Nascar department, but also their football. Their is no reason for them making these low quality games w/ the budget they have. It's pretty sad when you have people not making any money at all and making mods for a game(Rfactor) that are 100 times better than a full blown game from a large company. I mean these clowns at EA can't even let you pit your own car. I'm glad I have a good gaming computer so I can actually play a good racing Sim (Rfactor).

            Thanks for listening guys,
