Lag, lag, lag. Has anyone had as much trouble with this online as I have the last few days? I have had nothing but lag-filled races, and even have trouble joining races. I'll get stuck on the "connecting to host" timeglass many times. Is there anything you can do about this, are the EA servers to blame, or what? I really want to participate in the league, but this lag issue must go away.

As for the league, you could split it up in many ways. I would say 4 divisions of 5 drivers in each, if we could get 20 drivers. Then race the cup schedule and the top driver from each division goes to the chase, which would mean 4 drivers into the chase, and then 1 wildcard. The wildcard is the driver with the most wins, but is not leading his division. If there are multiple cars tied with say 6 wins, we could have a race off to see who will move on to the chase. The reason I would say to split it up this was is to avoid any lag at all.
So overall 5 drivers would move on to the chase. Anyone think this is a good idea. If not shoot it down, Im just throwing it out there.

That sounds good to me... Let's try to meet up this evening. I'll be on by 7pm (PST) or maybe earlier. Look for me in your friends list. I'll be in a private session."The older I get, the faster I was!"

Re: NASCAR online roll call, for those that enjoy...
Ok heres the best way I can put it for a league.
Division 1
Driver 1, Driver 2, Driver 3, Driver 4, and Driver 5
Division 2
Driver 6, Driver 7, Driver 8, Driver 9, and Driver 10
Division 3
Driver 11, Driver 12, Driver 13, Driver 14, Driver 15
Division 4
Driver 16, Driver 17, Driver 18, Driver 19, Driver 20
1)Each team has a reliable driver who will organize each event for the group.
2)The rest of the drivers will draw numbers to figure out which group their in.
3)The schedule will be the 2007 Cup schedule.
4)Top driver in each division moves on to chase. Therefore, 4 drivers are locked in.
5)The fifth driver for the chase will be determined by the amount of wins, in the event of a tie between two or more drivers, there will be a tie breaker race.
6)The chase will be the 10 races that the Cup series runs.
The reason for the groups of 5 is that hopefully that will prevent lag. Does this sound like a good plan to anyone? Let me know what you think.Texas A&M Aggies

Re: NASCAR online roll call, for those that enjoy...
Something to consider...
Online, I seem to run into guys that are at different levels in terms of skill. It wouldn't hurt to have few trial runs to see who's where. Folks seem to lose interest if they are consitently in the back of the pack. Perhaps we find that we should create different divisions."The older I get, the faster I was!"

Re: NASCAR online roll call, for those that enjoy...
Er, umm...count me out, fellas. I love NASCAR 08, but simply don't have the time to dedicate to it to get better, nor the room for all the setup (wheel and what not). I'm just going to take it back tomorrow, although with a pang of regret.
I just don't have the time I used to, I suppose. And maybe the inclination is going away, too. I have never been good at anything smaller than Texas Motor speedway, and forget anything that turns right in a stock car. I just keep thinking I'll want to do it, but really? I wanna play Burnout and PGR-just jump in and play. I like Forza still because Forza with the controller has no peer in terms of control. I like DiRT because, well, DiRT is fun. NASCAR is great, just too involved for my time anymore."Don't ask what the world needs; ask what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs are people who are fully alive."Comment
