    MotoGP 2007

Is there any interest for this game?

I used to play the crap out of MotoGP2 for the xbox and I guess I was wondering if there were enough people, say 12-16, we can have our own Championship/Grand Prix season going on.

I have the game and it brings back flashbacks from MotoGP2, which is a good thing for me. I remember sitting there for hours trying to better my lap times.

I got my call from Gamestop telling me to pick it up tomorrow. Have been waiting desperately for it. I am a huge moto gp fan irl and the game (as well as F1) Anyway, Iwould be interested although I am not the fastest out there, I refuse to do the whole powersliding thing. How did you get it early?

Yeah officially it comes out tomorrow. I'm not the fastest either but after a little practice it seems I didn't lose it, I'm a powersliding machine. For those that haven't played it before, there is quite the learning curve.

              Re: MotoGP 2007

I got MotoGP '07 last night. Didn't play much so far, but I can put out some early impressions of it. By the way, I play with 100% sim handling along with manual transmission, full powersliding sensitivity, full vibration and no arrow indicators (i.e. the red arrow that pops up on top when approaching a bend advising the rider to slow down, etc.).

Like in all MotoGP games before this one, it's still possible to customize and map your controller to just about any way you like, which is always a great thing.

Man, the second cockpit view is the most awesome view to play in any racing game. It's probably the #1 reason why this series will never get old for me and I can't get enough of it. Anyway, I know people in the past have shied away from racing in this view because it can be disorienting. But I can say it's less of an issue in this game than in previous MotoGP games as the screen doesn't sway as fast to the side as you initially tilt the bike. As long as you're easy and gentle on the turning/straightening of the bike while entering/exiting a bend instead of quickly pushing to the extremes majority of the time, there shouldn't be much of a problem getting acclimated to either of the two cockpit views. However, be warned... racing on the first half of Sachsenring can still be a b--- for those who are not used to racing this way.

I like the shaking action of the rear end of the bike as you accelerate hard out of the exit without sliding. First time this game got it right.

You can't hammer on the brakes in this game since tires will actually lock up unlike in previous MotoGP games. And don't try pushing on the front brakes when you're past the turn-in point of a bend leaning on the bike as you're approaching the apex. Heh, bad things can happen.

Finally, CPU-controlled bikes will fall whenever they collide with your bike. Before it took practically a miracle for a CPU rider to get knocked off their bike.

I'll have to mess with the customizing bike and leathers feature some more as there has been subtle changes.

There are certain objectives listed in Grand Prix mode that are tracked like number of podium finishes, etc. And of course the specific course Challenges are back too.

Challenges are done a little differently. Instead of simply completing the objective, you can win a gold, silver or bronze medal depending on which goal you're able to reach. And you can retry for the gold as often as you like if you had initially won a bronze/silver and want to do better.

There are no lap times posted during Qualifying session to let you know what the competitors are putting up. I personally like it this way as it keeps you on the edge while on the track. However, the red helmet (fastest overall lap time at the moment) and blue helmet clues (fastest personal best lap time at the moment) are still present on the screen.

The race telemetry on this game displays your performance of the entire circuit for each and every complete lap you finished. Information included for each lap are your fastest sections along with clean sections, off-track sections and crash sections in different colors to let you know on what parts of a track improvements can be made. Pretty nice feature.

Sounds good, the demo was exactly like 06 which is why I passed on it. Didn't feel like a new game at all.

How's the A.I. Kruza. Do they still race like mad maxx and constantly crash into you because you are in their racing line? Are they a little more alert this time. Does it feel like they dumbed down the game?
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I haven't witnessed how CPU-controlled riders act on Legend mode since it's locked on my game (haven't completed Champion level yet), and this is the level that they were at their vintage worst in past MotoGP games. Champion level seems to be fine though. Now the CPU rider won't give in if you're side by side with them so you would have to compromise and slow down and let them through if you're caught off the "ideal" racing line. But they won't run into the back of your bike if they're behind and you happen to navigate a bend slower than them.

That's good to here Kruza. I lost many races in the last turn by getting hit from behind by the a.i.

Yeah. Framerate tends to get a little choppy whenever there are a lot of moving bikes at one area, like near the beginning of a race. Other than that it's mainly smooth.
