MY Summer Goals (Involves Racing Video Games)

Currently I have NASCAR Racing 2003 on an old computer with a 128 MB Video Card with 256MB of RAM, and A Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Racing Wheel (Not Forcefeedback)

So here is what I plan on buying with the money I earn from the summer. And its going to simracing only because I'm tired of sports games on the xbox.

    1. Logitech G25 Force Feedback Wheel
This thing would be sweet to have, plus I'll probably get faster once I get this better wheel.

    2.A New Computer
I'm not going to get one custom built or anything, just able to run one certain game at the miminmum price. Plus I'm going to need one when I go to college anyways.

    3. ARCA Simracing
I already have NR2003 so that can hold me over but I really want this game.

So what do you guys think, if I get all that I would be set huh?

yeah, G25 is great, if your getting a new CPU i would go with something that has a dual core and an 8800 card, with 3 gigs of ram, because what ever you get will have vista, and you need 3 gigs for vista to be ok.

You bet, man. That would be an ideal setup if you're a stock-car sim fan.

            Good luck and have fun!

            Take care,

Thanks, I have been a pretty big stock car sim fan for about 3 years, and during the summers I really get into it big time. I guess I'll just have to find a computer that has XP on it.

Sorry for the double post, but should I go for the Desktop first or the Wheel first, I have been flip-flopping on which one to get first but right now I'm kinda leaining on the desktop because I will have to take it to college with me anyways.

I would go with the desktop first since the desktop can be used for many things. It is up to you, though.

just because you buy a computer with vista doesn't mean you have to keep it. You can always wipe the HDD clean and freshly install XP.

It's still better than Vista for many people, at least until they come out with windows 7 in a few years. Vista is just like windows 2000 or ME was before XP optimized those features. Vista is nice, but they are going to make the bloated stuff run better.

Yea I have installed Windows multiple times on my computer, and I know I could always wipe the HDD and use XP, but do you think I could use the same disc that I use for this computer?
