Personal preference, and it's obvious you play the game and have issues with its passiveness. That's perfectly fine. The initial poster I have a problem with because it quickly degraded into a "I'm glad I rented this POS it sucks" with no real clarification on why. Then his latest post was just a comment on why it's bad for consumers with the lack of competition...which I certainly won't argue against. But nothing he's posted makes me think he is anything but somebody who expected it to suck, fired it up, and decided it sucked without ever really giving it a shot. That makes no sense.
Having a legitimate quibble with how the AI isn't aggressive (yours) isn't in the same boat, in my opinion. There will be others who share that opinion, I'm sure. Personally, I haven't seen it, but I tend to drive cautiously and make a pass without making contact anyway. Very few of my races do I find a need to chrome-horn somebody to get by, but I have noticed that I can simply close the door on an AI car who has a run and suffer no real problems...eventually a real driver would get fed up and tag me, and the AI doesn't. I see your beef there. Unfortunately, I don't see any way to work around it , as at the end of the day, you're still dealing with AI. All games try to check up and avoid wrecking the player as it's not fun, and that's the ultimate goal. If you played last year's model of the game, you'll know that they went from one extreme end of the spectrum to the other, and I'd prefer this version any day of the week!
