How can I hold my Line (Nascar 09)

    Hey guys,

Im really stating to get into nascar and I have dabbled in nascar games for years, but I can never play it realistic b/c I cant hold a line(Using the 360 controller). Im playing the demo and at Daytona, I would assume at that track you never have to let off the gas correct? I dont think they do in real life at least. But the first couple laps are ok then I always keep sliding up into people, or if I try to drive in a high line I slide into the wall. Also when Im driving low in a turn and realize Im starting to get too low, I gently ease off then go sling up the track. I really want to play realistically but I also dont want to pay 100 bucks for a wheel. Any tip are appreciated.

I hear you.........I dont play this game b/c i dont have a wheel....its impossible to hold a line with the controller without waving all over the track.

Daytona will be your hardest track, as the margin for error is so small. You could look into something like this http://www.kontrolfreek.com/content/. Will help keep your thumb from sliding off. Overall they work pretty good.

My suggestion would be to rent or buy the game and get a good feel for the car on some other track. You just need to learn to be smooth and precise in your steering input. Learn to not turn all teh way into the left if you don't need to. And try jerk the wheel as little as possible. With some practice I think you can learn to drive it pretty smooth with a controller.

It does have a large learning curve and it takes a good deal of time to get a good grip on the line, in traffic forget it I am all over the place causing an accident every stinking race.

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

i find at daytona especially that if i play with the throttle a little bit and not go full out petal to the metal, i am able to hold a line better and stay in the draft. just as in real life, with the new cars they play with the throttle at the superspeedways. its not like the old days where you keep it wide open. im using the controller, no wheel but it also takes practice using the stick to keep the line also.
