That's funny... This is the first I'm hearing about racing tonight. Shows how much bull crap Bob likes throwing out there! LoL

Oh, I'm not really worried about him reading this since he is probably already in bed!

Some of us were up waiting on the 360 until 11pm waiting for a certain someone who said they would be on!

I'm sure there's probably an answer in this thread somewhere, but I'm too lazy to look through it.

Ok back when the game came out, I had a average pc for the time, and through some sites and adjustments, I was able to get my fps(70-100) up to a decent number at all the tracks.

Fast Forward today, again an average pc for this era, but somehow my fps have dipped to around 20.

Any suggestions as to how to get them up?
Don't you EVER read my blog? It's gotten a lot better.

            Mo,

The biggest problem with NASCAR 2k3 is the fact it doesn't recognize mulitple processors. I have a quad core, and I because of the age of the game, it will not take advantage of it.

If you are running the CUP10s mod, you are going to get lower fps. The models are designed at 2048, and can really cause fps issues. I am posting a link to Sim Racing Design. The 3rd sticky down has a full breakdown of tweaks to help with higher fps.........

I could've swore a while back I saw a free download on here for the game. Was I reading wrong, or did it just disappear?

They took it down so OS doesn't get in trouble for allowing pirated software links.

                    Another question:

I don't have a steering wheel...when I'm on my computer I'm usually laying in bed so there's no room for pedals anyway, so I'm trying to play just using my keyboard. However, when I try to assign keys to certain controls, it doesn't allow it, and I've tried near every single key on my keyboard. Any suggestions?

EDIT: And the game crashes before I can actually race. Anyone know the cause of this?

Ok, so I went ahead and installed this puppy again.

I'm not going to have to balls to race with you guys just yet, but what add-ons would I need? Just everthing that's on the first page?

You should be set with the links on the 1st page (lots to d/l and install). Once you are done, if you want I have the 2011 Cup 10S top 35 cars (not a full field as of yet but that is coming soon).

this is one of my favorite all time games, and to my dismay, i recently threw away my very old pc, and discovered just yesterday that my copy of the game was in it.

my old pc was an old version of windows but did run the game.

my question is, i have a desktop running vista, and a laptop running windows 7.

will the game run on either of these versions, or am i best to save my money and forget about the game entirely?

The game works great on Vista and Windows 7. You should be good to go.
