    OSFC-AAA 400(Dover)

Race 1 of the Chase apperantly occured yesterday, maybe Nascar should stop racing on Sundays during Football season. I think Tony Stewart finally finished the race.

Holy Crap! Dale Jr. had a top 5 run, that should be the lead on Sportcenter.

Clint Bowyer won the race, Mr. Wednesday took the points lead with his selection of Denny Hamlin finishing 2nd

This week Nascar heads to the Monster Mile, for the always exciting fall Dover race. Will anyone take control of points standings after this race? Will ESPN do a better job of making me aware the Race is on? Will Dale Jr put together back to back quality finishes? Will JJ or Jeff Gordon ever win a race? Will anyone prevent RCR from winning the Championship? Tune in this Sunday to ESPN to find out.

    Qualifying is on Friday

I'm gonna borrow this from Mike,

Pick the amount of cars based on the place you are picking, if you pick 2nd pick 2 cars, 5th 5 cars, and so on.

Place the driver who you want the most at the top, 2nd most 2nd, and so on until you fill the list based on how many you need.

As I gather the list I will mark off cars from your list that have been taken. I will then take the driver who is highest on your list, that is left.

Please send me a PM with your picks. We are all members here at OS, and it's much easier to deal with it all in one place.

If I mess up, please let me know ASAP.

Please don't submit your picks on this thread, unless you want everyone in front of you to know who you really want.

Finally, don't forget to have fun

      #16 Greg Biffle.

I should go with #48, but I can't bring myself to pick him in the Chase; I want him to crash and burn.

Jimmie Johnson is dead to me. I will never pick him, Kyle Busch or Carl Edwards.

I don't hate him like I do the Gibbs drivers or missouri boy. I'm just picking him because I know the one time I don't when I can he's going to win and that will make me madder than a teenage girls father when he catches her boyfriend sneaking in the window.

                      Interesting notes by Jayski...

                      http://jayski.com/cupnews.htm#news33wed

NASCAR looking at Bowyer's New Hampshire car: Two people familiar with the inspection process say NASCAR is taking a closer look at Clint Bowyer's race-winning car from New Hampshire. The #33 Chevy passed its initial inspection following Sunday's victory, but the people familiar with the situation say NASCAR discovered issues with the car in a more thorough inspection at its research and development center. They requested anonymity because the car is still being inspected. On Tuesday, NASCAR told RCR officials that Bowyer's chase-clinching car from Richmond came very close to failing inspection. Though NASCAR does not typically strip wins from drivers, a car that fails inspection would lead to a significant points penalty. Bowyer's wins pushed him to second from 12th in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship, 35 points behind leader Denny Hamlin.(Associated Press/ESPN.com)(9-22-2010)

Cars taken back to the tech center: NASCAR spent an extended amount of inspection time with the #11-Denny Hamlin and #48-Jimmie Johnson cars which failed to pass the height sticks in the first attempt. While the officials took pictures of the cars for insurance, after the shocks cooled down both cars made it through the height sticks on the second attempt. NASCAR took the #33-Clint Bowyer and #6-David Ragan cars to the technical center for further analysis as well as engines going from the #33, #11, #6, #46-Michael McDowell cars (FoxSports)(9-20-2010)

Ouch. 150 driver and owner points, $150K, plus the crew chief and car chief suspended for 6 races.

Ouch indeed. He wins the race but the penalty makes it like he finished 43rd so he goes from 2nd to 12th in points.

Well, take Bowyer out of the running, I guess!

Jimmie Johnson is salivating over this, I'd bet. I want Jeff Gordon to win the Championship, of course, but I'll be happy this year if anyone except JJ wins it. I'm sick of him winning every year...
