Love the new cars and Suzuka never looked more detailed and alive! I can also tell you right now that the driving line, as unrealistic as it may be, will help many turn more consistent laps.

      Re: iRacing after 2+ years

I need to wait until we get good setups for the cars before really judging things. As of right now, I can't really drive the Ford with the iRacing supplied setups. Steering is too twitchy, and I haven't been able to stop locking up the fronts under braking, even when moving the brake bias back a ways.

      More testing I suppose.

EDIT: Tried the Ford at Road America and it feels much better there than Suzuka. Still a bit twitchy for me, and I still lock the brakes, but it's much more enjoyable to drive now.

I also attached a Ford set for Road America that was just handed out in a hosted session.

Here is my fastest lap with the Ford GT at Brands Hatch (Indy Layout). BTW: Used the Baseline setup.

        Sorry about the quality.

I'll be messing around with the Riley, thats my series so any free time I get will go into that.

+Feels way better in the Riley but the annoying part of the car is still there, not able to spin the tires at all in 1st by popping the clutch.

The Riley didn't get the NTM yet if that's what you were thinking.

On another note, I think the Ford and I just don't get along. I've got 50+ laps in the car now, tried multiple setups, and it still feels just as terrible as it did when I first tried it. It sucks because GT2 cars are my favorite of the endurance racing classes, and I was hoping to run some races in it. That's not going to happen as it stands now.

Something changed in my head or in the car, the car doesnt feel the same to me as it did last season. I dont even want new tires, I want to be able to spin the tires.

For your GT run, might be the tires giving you issues, have you seen if people are having the same deal on the forums?

                Re: iRacing after 2+ years

Seems like a lot of people are disgruntled with how the GT feels, something about being very sensitive (think one guy said 10 degrees of turn was it)

Figured out why the DP felt different, I changed my wheel settings for the new NW car when the tire model preview came out but didn't assign it for just that car so it was universal

Well going to run the Ford GT in the first race, if there are enough people. Finally have a solid setup after a few days of work, the thing feels great and planted into the track.

Yeah, the sensitivity is the big issue for me. Maybe that's how the real car is, I don't know, but it takes all the fun out of driving it.

I tried that set you posted on the forum and after making a ARB adjustment, it feels pretty good. I'm still slow, but I think I just suck with the NTM.

I did some more work to it, and got that 10 mm rake into it (i think thats what they said to do) Now it is even better, it isn't fast laps, but the car is so stuck to the ground now, and each lap I get faster and faster in a run. Will see how this first race plays out, I think I am going to start on low fuel, and pit right before the LMPs catch me the first time which should get me to the end.

I wonder how many people are looking past that 10 mm rake (Me included) and it's causing issues. Think I'll go look at all the sets I've downloaded and see which ones are close to that.

I finally got around to getting 3D glasses for my video card, about to see how the sim looks with them. Wondering if the color saturation will be bleh.

Aaron, make sure you follow up with your impressions on this. I am really interested to hear the sim does in 3-d......appreciated!
