I've been racing the Mustang series and have enjoyed it but I didn't really like the Suzuka East track we were racing this week so I spent most of the week learning to drive the Skippy at VIR and I'm thinking about switching series. It takes awhile to get used to the Skippy handling and keeping the weight from shifting too rapidly to the rear on turns but once you get the hang of it it's a fun car to drive.

From my limited experience the Mustang races are usually very clean if you can stay out of trouble on the first lap and I've fast tracked to a B license in just a couple of weeks running it. Once you get your C license you can run four time trials on a Grand Am track with the Mustang and fast track to B once your SR is above 4.0.

The Mustang series is less populated than the Skippy but I've never had trouble getting in official races even though I usually race in the morning. I guess it depends on whether you prefer open wheel racing or tin tops.

Here is a very good and useful tuning guide for iRacing breaking down each component and what it does and how to adjust it.

File was too large to upload I guess so I'm hosting it somewhere else.

MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.

Our league has been running NR2003 for about 8 years now and we are switching to iRacing on 9/28/11

We will be running a fixed late model series on Weds nights and in Oct starting a fixed Nationwide series. If anyone is interested please look us up

Are a lot of people doing the private leagues these days? I just looked over at the series window since 2.0 launched and there doesnt seem to be anywhere near the amount of people practicing, qualifying, etc. as it used to be, or atleast seemed like

If you're talking about the number of people their website says is online, that's because they changed it. It used to be the last 2 hours, now it's like the last 20 minutes or something. Makes it look like there are fewer people online.

Anyways, here's a chart that shows the number of people who have done at least one session. Pretty steady growth since the start of 2009.

Even with that, seems like no one is practicing when I look. A few hours ago in between races, there was 3 or 5 people in the NW practices.

After going to the race at Loudon a few weeks ago I decided to sign back up for iracing.. My wheel came yesterday and I was going to jump on today before work, but the sites down for maintenance!

                  Re: iRacing after 2+ years

I'm definitely hooked on iRacing, to the point where I've shelled out quite a few bucks for a T500 RS wheel, AMD 6950 card, two more monitors to complete a three monitor eyefinity setup, and Trackir which tracks my head movement. I'm totally letting my geek flag fly! It's a fairly spendy setup but its increased the immersion factor significantly. I highly recommend three monitors if you can afford it.

After jumping from car to car I've finally settled on the Skippy at least till the end of this season. I haven't decided yet whether to stick with it for a full season in Season 4 or move up to the Radical or Star Mazda.

I'm picking up a seat out of a Honda CRX tomorrow from my buddy to start building a rig. Just realized that I can plug the HDMI cord from my 42" tv into my computer to race on... looks amazing.

Any of you who need to renew your sub or have been reluctant to join because of pricing should take note that this year's BF special actually runs Thursday thru Sunday and offers a one year membership for 49 dollars

Awesome video my man, dirt racing would be so cool to have I know it would be tough to master in a sim but man that would be fun.
