I thought I game him plenty of room to pass. Maybe not so?
You gave him a ton of room. If he tried to blame that on you, then he's a clown. That wasn't even remotely pinching.

Did a national series race which was either my second or third in it, so I am still learning the car a good amount, but I turned off all hud all race and I felt I raced my best race yet. I started 10th, finished 6th, but had zero incidents and was getting faster as the race went on. Dodged three wrecks that actually made me realize how much I'm getting better with picking where to go on the fly when I see smoke ahead.

I really like the series, but I wish it had a lot more attendance. It still had 20 people though. I love the car and length of track.

I'll be back in it next week. My friend and I didn't buy Irwindale since we wouldn't need it again for any other series. I'll probably be testing at Iowa at some point this weekend and get a head start on next week since I'm working on Monday night.

Irwindale is my most hated track on iRacing. I hate it.

Well, except when they do Figure 8 there on week 13, haha.

Ha, so far I really like Irwindale a lot. Thought I haven't raced too many tracks yet, so anything other than Charlotte was probably going to seem nice. And Doc, might be a good chance we race together with how it isn't one of the most popular series.

I haven't run there recently, but I loved racing at Irwindale. Was probably my favorite oval in iRacing. Blasting the Silver Crown around there was a ton of fun.

                    Re: iRacing after 2+ years

Just finished up a LM race in 7th out of 13 cars.

It was great fun trying to chase down and pass the cars in front of me. Started 6th, dropped to 8th after a screw up on lap 9, then it took me about 15 laps to get by the guy in 7th. After that, it took me about 20 to get close to the guy in 6th to start putting pressure on him, but I couldn't get the pass done in the final 10 laps.

Definitely out of iRacing shape, my right shoulder is killing me from that basically constant left turn that you're in at Lanier.

August 11th to be first broadcasted race of 2015b Season.

Yes, you heard it here. The August 11th race from Talladega (Traumatic Brain Injury Awareness 212) will be broadcasted. The broadcast is to raise awareness for Traumatic Brain Injury. We are broadcasting this race to raise awareness for league member, Thomas Jowers Jr, and everyone around the globe who has survived or faught this. Thomas Jowers Jr will be the in-race reporter during the broadcast so announcers can follow him throughout the race as the night is about him and his survival and fight though TBI. For Thomas, the CFRL would like to make this race the best of the year, with a segment pre-race on Thomas before the race, and to mostly just put in this broadcast.

Many may question "I thought you were close on money". Yes, we are but we just raised enough ourselfs to get a broadcast and we hope for more to come.

The race will be just over 212 miles and 80 laps and be the place of the second and final plate track race of the season.

The broadcast will be live on the Checkered Flag Interactive Youtube page but will also be on the BROADCAST CENTRAL / LIVE page here on CheckeredFlagRL.com. You can view the page just at the top next to the CHASE and CFRLSalutes pages.

More news will be released soon.

Even in C you get the people that just don't have sense. Does anyone else have problem with those behind them under cautions wanting to ride right up on their ***? Luckily it was 0 points, but some moron in the last race under caution bumped right into me. It's not like I can go any faster. It's caution and there are cars in front of me...

Unfortunately that won't get any better when you get to B and A. Some people can't seem to think about what they're doing, even during something as simple as a caution lap.

Tons better than in rookie at least. I was wrecked on the PACE laps in 3 different races in rookie.

I ran 160 laps of testing at Iowa in K&N earlier. Couldn't ever get faster than a 23.3, but could keep it between 23.5 and 24.0. After about 10-15 laps on tires I was in the low 24's. Was fairly easy to drive and if I wrecked, it was all my fault. It's easy to keep the car under control there so Iowa should be fun next week. Might even go to the actual race if I feel up to it.

Pocono, on the other hand, I would love to try and run the C cup race or truck race. I'm going to do several hours of testing tomorrow. There is no way in hell I can run the fixed race, though. The car/truck is just too tight for me out of turn 3 without slowing down and running laps around 1 minute, and I know those aren't good enough to be competitive. I see a lot of sub-55 laps in the Gen6 on iSpeed, but I sure hope those are custom setups. I will never make up 5 seconds in the fixed setup for either series. I guess I could ride around the back and act as a start-and-park and just try and get a good finish out of it. 2.5 miles is plenty of space that in the truck race I shouldn't be lapped, but I don't think I'd like just lucking into a decent finish.

Unless I'm just randomly quick with this combo, the fixed set will definitely be in the 54s. I just ran a few laps and hit low 56's pretty quickly, and I was a good 1-1.5 seconds (Or more at times) off the fast guys at Indy.

Here are my laps just in case you want to take a look and try to pick something up. I really have no idea what I'm doing however. I don't know the proper line, nor if people are shifting. James could probably help with those.

The only way you'll get any faster is to get out there and run.

I know it sucks to be slow and so far behind everybody, but when I started with GTR2 (which was my first real online experience) I was dead last and a good 8-10 seconds off the fast guy in my league. That fast guy is quick enough that had he continued to sim race he'd likely be qualifying for iRacing DWC races on the road side.

Despite being so slow, I stayed with things, and just kept running laps, and bit by bit I got faster and eventually I ended up on the same team as that fast guy. He helped me out, and between that and watching what he was doing, I ended up about a half second off his normal times, while occasionally being able to keep up and once or twice I managed to beat him.

Basically what I'm saying is stick with it. You might not be the next Gregor Huttu, but unless you're the slowest person on iRacing, and judging by your iRating you're nothing close, you'll find plenty of people to race with.

Well my first night of iracing went ok. Rookie is terrible. But from dropping down to a 2.40 SR I bounced back and finished my night by getting up to 2.74. I can not wait to get out rookies
