Re: iRacing after 2+ years
Not sure I'm going to get a race in at Watkins Glen this week. I've already got 75-100 laps with my new pedals, but I'm still way too inconsistent with them to feel comfortable trying 45 laps around other cars. Especially without a yellow flag break. At least Michigan should be a bit easier next week.
Think I might try the trucks at Indy, not as much braking there.Comment

Those CSR elites are awesome right Chaos? What wheel do you have?Comment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
I'm enjoying them, I just wish I could skip the whole learning how to brake all over again thing which I'm struggling with right now.
I have a T300RS that I just got last week. Loving the wheel and it's making me wish I had upgraded a long time ago. FFB is a tons better, and just the overall feel and comfort while driving makes things more enjoyable. It's also much more precise and smooth which really does help you catch slides and control the car better.Comment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
Anyone ever had "supposed" network connection issues? Had a guy last race kept saying I was flashing. Thing is, he was the only one that said it, my ping and quality were both better than him, and I did some tests after the race and I have no packet loss. He's not the first one to say it, but it's only ever been like 1 driver saying anything, not anyone else I've been around.
Not sure what, if anything, I can do about it, or is it more of his problem if he is the only one seeing it?Comment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
I've never had an issue that I'm aware of, but every time I've seen someone else flash, everyone has been able to see it, not just one person. Did anyone say they weren't seeing you flash? I'm thinking they probably did see it, they just didn't say anything.
My guess is the problem was between you and the server, and there's not much you can do about that.Comment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
Yea, the only thing I see is my "skew" bar has a little bit of yellow (and just turned green as I was writing this, so maybe intermittent). I've got no packet loss to their server. My ping is consistently around 40.
I mean, I believe the guy since I have heard it in a previous race, but it probably didn't help that I was faster than him and he couldn't get by me for about 10 laps.Comment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
After a few hours of messing with things last night, and another hour plus today, I think I finally have my pedals setup well enough. I had to move the pedal face down, take off the spacer that is in-between the pedal face and the pedal arm, and put a 2" thick paperback below the heel plate area. They're still a little wobbly thanks to the book, but my foot doesn't hurt anymore so that's good news. Now I just need to figure out how to build a new "book" out of wood or something solid so they don't wobble.Comment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
Did you just have them on the ground? I had to mount mine to my rig because they would slide I wasn't able to apply full pressure with the brake. The other thing I did was when calibrating I don't push all the way but what feels comfortable for me with the load cell. So I think I have about 50% set as 100% brake. That way I'm not smashing the brake all the time.
Yeah, I'm still trying to get the pedal set comfortably for me when I calibrate. I've got the knob on 10, and I'm not pushing down all the way. Still trying to figure out the best amount of pressure when I calibrate so I'm not locking up all the time.Comment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
Well that was a fun experience. A pro license driver decided to enter the National series race this morning. I finished 3rd and was still lapped twice. I have no idea how he gets the line he does because any time I tried it, I had to wait to get into the throttle or I'd hit the wall. Crazy how good some people are on here.
I'm also finding it harder and harder to increase SR. One guy came up off the apron and gave me a 4x and then I hit the wall for another 2x. Dropped 0.04. I'm still in the 3.6's so I'll get promoted at season's end because I never fall or gain too much, but I was hoping to get up to a C4.0 to get that extra 0.4. Hopefully Michigan will go well next week and I can have some clean races.Comment

In fact, all of these SRs are technically equal to one another:
D 4.99 = C 3.99 = B 2.99 = A 1.99 = P 0.99
(P is a pro license, for the guys who race in the pro series or DWC)Comment
