Re: iRacing after 2+ years
Congrats on the oZone. What pedals do you have?
Anyways for me I recently got my Oculus Rift and I have been using that exclusively in sim since the new update. I did some Indy Oval in week one and I hated how bad the racing was sometimes in my splits and how easily the cars got damaged.
I switched over to the GT3 series in the Mercedes and I am loving it. I just finished second in a race (I was the #7 car) and I just barely lost and it was because I had a better fuel strategy than the guy in the lead, he ran out but had enough of a lead to hold me off. I believe he won by 0.4 seconds. All of that was in the baseline setup too. So I am having a great time and I know there is room for improvement as well.
Hope iRacing is going well for everyone else.Comment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
Installed iRacing today for the first time in forever. Need to get my wheel and pedals hooked up at some point.
James, I happened to get online when you were sitting in the pits during the NiS race today. What'd you do in the pits to mess up the car?Comment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
I'm still doing that. Dreading New Hampshire when I'm sure I'll be back to the same problems I had last year. Some tracks click for me and others, not so much. And the ones that do work, I wind up getting caught up in something I had no business being involved in.Comment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
I ran an A Open race today and all 64 laps were green. I finished 3rd. It wasn't SOF to write home about but my iRating is now just over 1800.Comment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
I had one for a while for iracing and other gaming, I liked it for racing but it gets pretty uncomfortable after a long session. Needs a better seat. Also not meant for tall people that much. Ended up selling mine.Comment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
I haven't raced a lot lately. I need to get back into this, but my motivation has been sapped for some reason over the last month or two. I thought moving would lead to me racing more (and I did so initially), but instead I seem content to crash on the couch after work, etc.
Maybe I will race this weekend!Comment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
I feel a lot better about NH than I did when I considered it last year. Kentucky went great. Started 4th and finished 6th and the setup thread I used on the forum has a real nice and stable setup. May not be quick but I feel like I can drive it no matter the tire wear. Just a matter of who else is around me.
In a truck race yesterday after I got caught speeding, I went from 9th to 6th in two laps, got sideswiped by a truck and had to start all the way over, then went from 9th to 6th in four laps and eventually got to fourth eight laps later. I can wheel it around here if I have to. This track is like Pocono for me. Not that exciting to watch, but pretty dang fun to drive.Last edited by Redacted01; 07-17-2016, 05:38 AM.Comment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
I've always loved driving the flat tracks. Maybe it's because you actually have to use your brakes a little bit, but they're definitely more enjoyable to race on.Comment

Finished 6th again so I'd consider New Hampshire a success! Maybe another flat track in Indy will yield the same result.Comment
