55.3xx in qual at Pocono, James? And here I was happy with the 55.750 that I just ran. Dang you division 1 people.

I don't want to count mine up either. I recently bought a CSWv1, the Formula Rim, the BMW rim and a set of CSR Elite pedals and a third monitor for 3 monitor setup.

What do you think of those? Any issues? I just picked up a set last week but haven't had a chance to use them yet due to Fanatec's lovely quality control.

I might run the 8:45 Iowa race. My eyes are starting to feel working until 1 AM and waking up at 5 though, and in practice, I can't get close to the low-to-mid 23's I was running on Saturday.

Truck race didn't go well, but not as poorly as I expected either. I could have been on pole if I qualified as I'm capable of running high 58's. Someone made it 3-wide in turn 1 lap 1 and didn't give me any room at all and made contact. I should have let off and just let the maniac go as he wrecked it again later on.

After being spun in turn 4 or 5 on lap 1 in a 12 hour race at Daytona about 8 years ago (Thankfully there wasn't any damage), I pretty much let everyone go past me on lap 1 if they push the issue. Yeah, I might not finish as highly as I might have due to not being able to make the spot up, but it's much better than getting wrecked.

I bought them used and I haven't had an issue yet. They are great much better than my driving force GT pedals.

I picked up the Next Gen 6 car and Pocono Raceway. Hoping to get to play around with it tomorrow evening after work.

Thanks. I had a set of CSP v1 pedals about 5 years ago and loved those. The CSR Elites seem pretty similar. Going to take some time to get used to the brake again coming from the DFGT pedals, I remember it taking me a long time before.

Nice. I find the combo pretty fun to drive, but it seems like many people don't like Pocono much.

I was downshifting to 3rd gear in T1 and T3, which was probably worth a tenth. 55.7 is fine for race pace and most guys are going to be 56+ seconds, anyways. I was able to run an A Fixed race earlier and my best lap was a 55.7 in the race. I had the race won until the caution came out with a lap and a half to go and the guy in front of me that hadn't pitted was able to make it barely on fuel. He was only a second in front of me at the time of the caution and I would have passed him at the white flag because of how slow he was having to go, regardless of whether he would have made it on fuel or not. Never lost a race on fuel mileage before. I downshifted to 3rd gear throughout the race and it seemed okay, though I had to be careful and not give it as much throttle as I wanted to. It definitely seemed to help the straight speed and helped me get past the 1st and 2nd place cars.

These A Fixed races are kind of fun. I have a little more time to race over the next couple weeks, so I'll try to do some more. I like that A Fixed is longer than a fuel run now. It brings some strategy back into play whereas A Fixed used to just be sprint races.

I started with a DFGT. The wheel itself is pretty solid, but yeah the pedals were lacking. There's no clutch pedal and the brake and accelerator are plastic. The G27 is much nicer in that regard with metal pedals, though not elite, I suppose. Maybe I'll break the bank and splurge for one of the nice pedals at some point in the future. I hear load cell brakes are supposed to be nice.

Didn't mean to ignore you before the start there, James, it's been so long I can't remember how to do private chat, and I don't use or listen to voice chat. Though with the ability to do private chats during the race I might have to get a mic and start using it.

Pretty crappy race for me. Suppose I was rated 13 in a field of 16, but I didn't feel conformable with the car all race long and I didn't have the speed. A lot different running around there behind another car than it is by yourself, for me anyway. And of course I did my typical horrid start/restarts where I lose about 4 places every time. Just need more seat time.

No crashes, didn't hit the wall once, and I finished ahead of my iRating location so I suppose I shouldn't complain too much.

Can't image it's fun to lose a race like that.

I assume you did that during the race we just ran I really struggled off the corners, and I wonder if others were shifting or if I just suck. Probably both.

Nice. Hopefully we end up in more races together, although you'll either be way in front of me or blowing past me on restarts if you end up behind me somehow.

Go sign up for these (create an account then opt-in to the waiting list). You aren't required to buy, this just gets you in line so that when they finally make enough pedals, you get the option to buy them. They look pretty good to me and are fairly cheap, at the moment anyway.

                            I'm 276th right now.

Yeah, I shifted throughout the race. I am not sure if others were or not, though I would guess that the fastest cars probably were shifting as it gives you a little edge. It's not strictly necessary, though. I hadn't done it in the past here. It helps more later in runs when corner speeds are lower.

After I got involved in that silly incident under caution (I really don't know what happened there... I had coasted up beside the guy in front of me but I was around 50 feet lower than he was, then he just turned left like he had some sort of failure with his wheel or something), I kind of drove like a maniac for the remainder of the race trying to make up positions in the final five laps. Looking back at it, I am kind of surprised I didn't wreck.

I'm probably going to also do the next race in a few minutes, as well. That one probably won't split.

EDIT: Interesting pedals, Chaos. I will have to look into that.

I wondered what happened to you. You were ahead of me going into pit stops, and then you didn't leave and I figured you must have picked up damage somehow.

Looking at the replay, I think he was just screwing around and didn't see you there. I saw him drive into the grass a few times just randomly under caution, but maybe a kid was distracting him or something.

I'd love to do the next race, but I don't have time to finish it. Work calls way too early for me.
