Also, for those that have a wheel, what is your setup. do you set it on your lap, on a coffee table in font of you, etc. Never used a wheel and just wanting to know some peoples opinions.

Is everyone playing with an actual WHEEL??
Basically just wanting to know if most everyone playing this game along with the others, Forza and gt5 are using a wheel with/without pedals or can these games be just as fun without. I've been thinking about getting one of the racing games but didn't know if getting a wheel would be a huge improvement or if the game is just as fun without. I can remember old games it was near impossible to finish a full race and be competitive without a wheel which is why i never really bought these games or gave up on them pretty quick

Re: Is everyone playing with an actual WHEEL??
I actually picked up a wheel recently. Absolutely loved it. Especially on the sweeping turns where I can just slightly **** the wheel instead of annoyingly feathering a stick.
I'll tell you this though the pedals and the wheel where all over the place. Couldn't get the wheel to stick on the table at all. Pedals sliding all over the place. I've actually been keeping my eye out for a small table that I can just secure the wheel to. Then I'll probably mount the pedals on low deck and put some small cleats on the bottom to keep them from moving around.
I've seen a few stands online but they ran around a 100 bucks. Little much.PS4 - CoastalRyan

I play my racing games with a wheel. I'd never go back to the controller.Comment

I don't know what wheel you use but when I had a Logitech Driving Force GT, I used an $8 wooden TV tray from Walmart that worked decent.I actually picked up a wheel recently. Absolutely loved it. I play on a TV tray, as well. It's certainly not ideal, but it works decently enough and it's easy to stow away when I'm not using it.Comment

I did not find this, but someone posted it on CAG. It's seems like a solid deal with practically 50% off.Just in time for GT5!
The wheel is listed at MSRP, but use coupon code logi_dfgt_101310 at checkout for a whopping $73 off. Code expires Oct. 19th or until supplies run out. This is only for the Force GT, and not the G27 (unfortunately).

Microsoft xbox wheel. I got it at a pawn shop so maybe it was supposed to come with some kind of clamping system to secure it but as of now it has a tendency to slide around on a TV tray.PS4 - CoastalRyan

Re: Is everyone playing with an actual WHEEL??
a stunning deal, but for my 30+ days of reading about fanatec... and it's got its potential problems of longterm unreliability and zero price promotions... i still went w/ fanatec and it's coming out of CA right now.
had i got logitech wheel i'd regret not having the utmost realism in both pedal and wheel.Comment
