I know, I'm excited to try it. I went with the median pricing solution. GT Force and Xlerator wheel stand for $200 versus the full on G27, racing seat combo for $800+. Anyway, I'm excited for it all to arrive. I plan on putting a lot of time into GT5 as I really got into past GTs without a wheel.

It truly is a rewarding experience. And the game is so huge, it pays for itself. Not to mention you will be set up for other racing games down the road.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: GT5 with the controller
My biggest complaint with the PS3 controller when it comes to racing is that the left stick used for steering is at the rear of the controller, unlike the 360 that as it more to the front. The 360 controller set up allows for a more comfortable thumb position. When I'm doing long races it's very uncomfortable with the PS3 set up. That's why the HKS interested me.
However today I saw this controller at gamestop. It's a wireless PS3 controller set up just like a 360 controller. I tried it out with GT5 and it worked great. This may be an option for those that prefer the 360 controller over the PS3 controller.
I'm still going to check out the HKS for racing and use this one for the shooting games.

Re: GT5 with the controller
I'm bummed that NFS Hot Pursuit 2 doesn't use the GT wheel. Same for Motorstorm 2. Any recommendations for arcade racers that use it? I'm sure GT5 will keep me busy for a long time but I'd like a little variety. I'm sure I'll pick up NFS Shift 2 when it comes out.Comment

Re: GT5 with the controller
Yeah, Hot Pursuit not having it at launch is a bummer, and quite baffling considering every other EA racer has support for it. But word is they are adding it to a patch. But I think I am skipping over HP and waiting for Shift 2. It will be more on the sim side, but still have arcade elements to differentiate from GT5 obviously.Comment

Re: GT5 with the controller
[QUOTE=EnigmaNemesis;2041893657]While I agree with what you are saying, I think his point was, if you are going to spend $50 on this controller, why not save a little more and spend an extra $50 for the best experience you will get for a racing game in the wheel. Considering that is the only use this controller would really get.
That's exactly what I meant. Thanks Enigma.
To the smart-asses, Lol, the extra $50 is SOOOOOO worth it. Like I said in my other post, i used to think spending money on a force feedback wheel wasn't worth it.... until i tried it.
Are you guys going to spend a lot of time playing GT5?? By purchasing the game, i'm assuming the answer is "yes". So splurged a bit. Or at least buy it retail at your local Bestbuy, try it, then once you realize how immersive it is, return it and buy one from Amazon.
Really, you guys have no idea. Otherwise have fun with your analog sticks.PSN: jestik1

I like the sim nature of the game but, don't have the space to have a actuall wheel. So a controller would work for me better than a wheel. Im not worried about money I'm worried about space.Moderator
