It now appears that you can race with on-line schemes for the PS3 only...here is an announcement from Eutechnyx themsleves about the 360.


Xbox 360 and online custom paint schemes

Does this mean for the PS3 league we can run our own paint schemes?

2nd question - Why are we choosing drivers? Are their cars going to be better? (I.E. Jimmie Johnson would have a huge advantage over Danica) Or is it just preference on who your favorite drivers are?

Being a fan of F1 I love the team idea but it would be best if it was chosen at random and if the teammates weren't in the same race for the reason someone said of players blocking or wrecking someone to help the team.

I'm in favor of no to limited assists. I know F1:2010 had a "happy medium" in some assists that could prove to be an equalizer if you will for those not having a wheel. Only assists I'm dead set on wanting on is shifting and pit road automatic speed limiting (cpu makes you go the pit road speed limit). Also limited damage might be a good idea if people are just being crazy and wrecking into each other, it would really stink to wait a week only to get wrecked out right away by some guy that floors it into turn 1 without braking. Yellow flags are a touchy issue, we'll have to see how they do it in the game but if it's short races they should definitely be turned off. If they are long races, sure put them on.

Also, is there online season mode? If not, we should definitely go by the 2011 points rules or make it simple by 1 point per position for shorter races.

Is it possible that the PS3 league could have customizable skins then? If we can see each other online, that would be an amazing plus for the Sorny Players

It is my understanding that PS3 owners will be able to upload thier own skins, and race them online and have people see them.

The only reason we were picking drivers in the first place was merely for the love of a driver or paint scheme. The is no decisive advantage for a human to drive a certain car. Since it looks like PS3 users can paint their own skins, there will be an option to drive a pre-rendered skin, or use your own.

There is not a season mode for online leagues, so we will keep track here on OS, and we will use the official scoring system used by NASCAR.

Yes....if it is true that we can use our own created skins online, then any PS3 users can absolutely use their own created skins!

fastest time... if its in the game... otherwise it will be random i assume

If online qual. is in the game, then obviously we will use that. If it does not make it in the final retail build, then we will do 5 hot-laps before a race and use the fastest lap times for qualifying...

...at least thats what I have working in my head right now.


My goal is to make the league fun, and approachable for any member that wants to do the following

1. Have fun
2. Be active( as often as possible)
3. drive safely and with courtesy to other drivers

I Just will not allow drivers with attitudes, or an elitist vibe to participate in the league. This league is for fun(even though the winner gets a free game) and give drivers of all skill a chance to participate as long as they understand the etiquette of racing.

Cant wait to get this league started. I am with Blue though, I think we should wait a week or so in order to identify any bugs and/or make sure we get the settings to exactly where we want them for as much sim as possible. I can promise one thing though, my crew chief and boys will squeeze every bit of horsepower possible with my Toyota(if I end up getting Hamlin) as possible even if we have to cheat a little
