Actually didnt take me long.. I work in Illustrator and Photoshop all day at work so it makes grasping the paint booth alot easier. Also get away with a few posts here in there.

You can open the files on your computer. I see them on mine. The photos are .png files. I can view them on my computer. Just upload them to photobucket and copy them into the thread.



I like the car... the grill is better then mine. Think Im going to have to "borrow" your idea if you dont mind!

No problem! It's just one of those squares with the rounded corners painted grey, then another shape but smaller as black, then simply two lines painted grey as the "T" in the grille. Enjoy! :-D

I haven't messed around on the Paint Booth much. I made one 19 layer car base then I edit **** off of it. Right now I have 4 cars from that base. Two are DirecTV and two are 3M.

The "base car" idea is something I just did. I went and deleted everything except the contigencies, the numbers, and the grille/tail-lights/rookie strip and saved it, that way I get the same look with each car and it's easy to start a new one. Plus, once the 2011 patch comes out, I have a great idea for a story using a "blank" car.

Yeah I noticed, thanks! I should be done with my next car today or tomorrow. Im liking this one more than the Gatorade one but we'll see once I get all the sponsors on it. Hard to stay away from racing online... having too much fun leaving kids in the dust!

That gatorade car is SICK... somebody has way too much time on their hands lmao just messing dude, we need people like you or else I would have no motivation.

I read somewhere that you could save the cars to your PS3 hard drive... put that on a flash drive and would be able to move it to your computer. Now, you can't open it on your computer- but can you email the file or share that file, then have that person load that to the PS3 and thus open up the car?

I guess I misread your post Chapmac! If anyone wants to try this Id be willing to send them my car. Would be really cool if you could do this!
People could start making templates for each make and everyone could work off those to make their cars! The only issue maybe with the decals that people made with their car. When the person copies the car to their hard drive I wonder if NTG11 will read the file without glitching because that person doesnt have the decals used. Doubt NTG11 would be able to seperate the decal layers properly.

EDIT: Im going to copy the car to my USB today and take it over to a friends house and try copying it to his hard drive. Ill let you guys know what happens!

Probably wont be til late tonight but Ill be sure to let you guys know by the morning as to what I find. Hope it works!

UPDATE: I copied my paintschemes to a USB and took it over to a friends house to see if you could put paint schemes on a different PS3 with a different user. Because all your paint schemes and decals are saved in one file called paint schemes there is no way you can have your own paint schemes and somebody elses copied paintschemes in the same save file. I saved my friends paint schemes to another user to back it up and still tested to see if everything transferred over smoothly. The cars took a little longer to load up the first time but worked fine. After opening the car files for the first time you have to save them again in the paint booth so that the pictures come up in selection of quick races and track testing in single player. Until you resave the cars the pictures appear black. I played one race with both my paint schemes and everything was there. Though this isnt ideal, for those novice painters out there this could be an opportunity for them to get a "template decal pack" with headlights and taillights for all makes and other desired decals if somebody is willing to help. I would be willing to make a decal pack to email to people if the demand is there for it. However, I dont want to give away my complete custom paint schemes. I may consider doing requests for real life cars especially throwbacks. Whoever does consider this would lose all their current work(could always save it to Online Storage(playstation plus) or another user to comeback to if desired) and would have to start from scratch. Considering they will eventually come out with the 2011 patch that will contain manufacturer decals this may not be worth it. Let me know what you all think!

Thanks man! Read post #82 in this thread. I explain what is possible as far as sharing paint schemes on the PS3. Not possible on the 360.

I'm working on one simple scheme right now and I don't want to start over. I would like to do some more advanced cars, but I'm going to wait until I find the answer to my question. By the way, you have got some really cool looking rides.
