Hearing lots of fans are passing out from the heat and most have gone underneath the stands for shade. Bet it'll be a night race next year.

Yeah just a case of stupidity. We went and saw the new X-men movie last night
(boy that was bad). Came home and we had put some solar light in the back yard. Well I felt they needed some re adjusting. So I walked out of the deck as my girl friend said "Hey honey you want your shoes." 15 second later I stepped on a rail road tie and its rust nail right into the bottom of my foot. I knew it was there we are going to use them to build a plant bed and I had just not gotten around to pulling the nails out. So off to the emergency room since I cant remember when my last tetanus shot was. It being Saturday night there were plenty of real emergencies so we had to wait awhile.

So yeah I am good just stooooopid LOL , but thanks

It was hotter on Saturday by far and it was the truck race so my tolerance was way lower....we had a decent cross wind that was blowing through the stands that helped today.

Couple of other thoughts on the heat today.

                            Yes it was hot.......however........

I saw a ton of guys wearing freaking jeans today and drinking 20 beers before they went in.........don't even get me started on how grossly out of shape many of the fans are.

I'm in pretty good shape and was smart enough to wear sunblock and bring in 6 bottles of water in my cooler. I never left my seat for one second and had no issue.

Also......I saw people with SMALL kids like 2 and under out in that heat...now that's just asking for trouble.

Yeah, that's the only nice thing, normally a decent breeze out there.

Anyways, I forgot to set my alarm last night and didn't wake up early enough to go to the race. At least it's only 4 more months until the next one.

Yeah I've seen the same thing at Talladega, I don't understand why people bring such small children to these races, I brought my 8 year old last October and to not to go into so many details I won't bring him back until he's a bit older. I haven't told the story to anyone but if anyone is interested I might. It involves my father in law my son me and me leaving my father in law at the track telling him to find his own way home. Quite a story.
