    OSFC- Geico 400 (Chicagoland)

Well, he we are 26 races in the book, and 10 go. Time for the preview of the Chase Contenders. (Order is based on Point Standings after reseeding)

Kodiak-Started off the season with a bang winning the Bud Shootout, and hasn't really looked back since. Can he do like BurghFan and win the Chase from the Pole Position?

Perfect Zero- Dude to his 2 wins and the reseeding, the rookie is tied for second in the standings going into Chicagoland, can back to back rookies win the title?

Bullit-Also with 2 wins, this rookie snuck in via the last chase spot via points. Can he be another rookie that takes the OSFC by storm?

Bjowers29- Happy Jowers, that's what I'm calling, the Harvick fan, has had an impressive start to his OSFC career, much like Kevin did. But can he finish it off with a title at the end of the year or will he have a Cubs like finish?

br239- With 7 top 5s and 1 win, he's been very consistent in his 1st season. Can last of 4 rookies in be the one that raises the trophy?

Bluengold34-Bob rode his JJ horse to a top 8 finish, and now must use his ND magic to try and win this. I like his chances if he does use his ND and Cubs powers.

BurghFan- The defending champ has done a great job of being in the chase again. Can he defend his title? Or will he fold like the Pirates did?

Mo- The only other user without a win that's in the chase, missed out on the chase last season at Richmond, can the underdog overcome the Goliaths to win this? Yes, I shall.

Coming in via the wildcard are veterans superjames and Chaos. Chaos overtaking Rules with a improbable race result at Richmond.

So there you have it. The Chase contenders. The defending champions, 4 rookies, and 5 long time OSFC veterans. You are set for Sunday, So who you got? Let's go to Chicagoland and start this.

****Picking order for this week will be different. First 10 will be the chase drivers based on reverse race finish(last picks first....) Then non chasers come in. Picking order will return to normal next week*****

I'm gonna borrow this from Mike,

Pick the amount of cars based on the place you are picking, if you pick 2nd pick 2 cars, 5th 5 cars, and so on.

Place the driver who you want the most at the top, 2nd most 2nd, and so on until you fill the list based on how many you need.

As I gather the list I will mark off cars from your list that have been taken. I will then take the driver who is highest on your list, that is left.

Please send me a PM with your picks. We are all members here at OS, and it's much easier to deal with it all in one place.

If I mess up, please let me know ASAP.

Please don't submit your picks on this thread, unless you want everyone in front of you to know who you really want.

Finally, don't forget to have fun

It's kind of weird not to be opening up the Chase with New Hampshire this year.

      Anyways, good luck to everyone!

Kevin Harvick. My man built Chicagoland Speedway. He won the first 2 races ever run there.

A couple of breaking news stories.

1 Austin Dillion will be driving the #3 car next season in the Nationwide series for RCR with RCR teammates Elliot Sadler continuing to drive the #2 and a number of Cup drivers each driving the #33 with the new merger of RCR/KHI.

2 I don't have all the details as this is just breaking but it looks like Turner Sports who owns nascar.com has made a deal with espn so all the chase races will be broadcast on espn3.com and on all mobile devices that have the watch espn app. I don't know how this works with the race buddy that nascar.com has or how the races on espn will be handled but I'm sure the details will come out before Sunday.

Here is the link and details

              http://www.jayski.com/cupnews.htm#20110914a
Most chase races will be available online: NASCAR, ESPN and Turner Sports will announce plans Wednesday to air nine of the 10 Chase races live online, allowing fans to view the end of the Sprint Cup season in ways never before available. Fans can view the nine ESPN races via NASCAR.com's RaceBuddy and ESPN's WatchESPN.com platform and the free WatchESPN app, beginning with Sunday's Cup race from Chicagoland Speedway. The lone Cup race fans won't be able to view online will be the Oct. 15 event at Charlotte Motor Speedway. That race airs on ABC, which does not air events live online to protect its affiliate stations. Here's what fans can see online:
              • NASCAR.com's RaceBuddy will feature two mosaics with a mix of eight in-car and stationary cameras positioned around the track. Team radio audio will be associated with each of the in-car cameras.
              • ESPN's live broadcast can be viewed via computer, smartphone and tablet through ESPN's WatchESPN app and at WatchESPN.com.
Also, it will be announced that ESPN's daily NASCAR show "NASCAR Now'' will be available for the first time through WatchESPN.com and the WatchESPN app. Telecast of NASCAR Nationwide Series races on ESPN and ESPN2 also will be available on WatchESPN.com and the WatchESPN app.(Virginian-Pilot)(9-14-2011)

I'm sure ESPN paid a pretty penny for that.

And not surprise by Dillon going to the Nationwide series.

Yeah I'm sure ESPN did I hope that someone else will take over nascar.com Turner Broadcasting just seems not to be living up to it's potential.

They announced back in June or so he would be going Nationwide in 2012 Childress has been saying though he wasn't going to run the 3 past trucks that's where the news is not too many people was expecting that.

Yeah that's why I would like to see someone other than Turner take over the web site they are missing out on a lot of opportunities to push the sport further. I would definitely pay for a subscription to watch all the races online

I've been wanting to see the races on ESPN3 for quite sometime. This is significant for me as I don't get cable in the dorm and am tired of watching the races on Justin.tv and the like.

Over/Under 4.5 average finish for a driver to win the chase this year? I'm going under I'm saying a driver averages a 4.1 finish for the championship.

Any chance you'll be at the race Sunday?

Also I'm going to throw this piece of fantasy info out there take from it what you will but, Kyle Busch has 0 wins in the month of October, only 1 win in the month of November that coming at Phoenix his rookie year.
