Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion

I"ve been trying to grasp the workarounds for the tire wear issue but there's so many "theories"...
Anyone have a solid workaround? I plan on picking this up today but would like to know if the workaround is worth it.

      Is it only practice sessions?
I haven't really noticed it though as I breezed through 20 laps at Maylasia for the 3 sessions(I do about 20 laps then sit back and watch the board on 30X...then jump back in at 5:00 for another 2 laps) and actually qualified 1st(1st Q session) (in the rain though...I can't keep up with them better than 10th in dry conditions)
      I finished 16th at Australia.
      (I run full race lengths)

I'm really liking the game this year. I still love NR2003, but it's just not as responsive as I would like and the AI is a bit too whacky for me to enjoy as much as I used to.

I've had an ECCI wheel/pedal/shifter setup for a number of years now and I finally finished building the half-cockpit to use it in. Lexus car seat....fake gauges....(yes, I'm a fanatic when I get into something).....I'm finally using my Christmas presents from 2008-9!

Yeah just when making practice runs I think. Whatever set you run with in P1 the wear transfers to the next (new) set in P2.
Im not even remotely clued into F1 racing and wanted to try this year so I guess I can just practice the tracks and when ready go into my career.

I just really want to get into some racing again and GT5 is ok but I want to run on 360 with my wheel and its either Forza or F1. Since I had already done Forza I wanted to try F1.

Is Forza 4 worth it if I have Forza 3?

The glitch as I understand it is that whatever set is on the car when you leave a session, the wear from that set gets applied to the set being put on for the next session. The workaround is to put on a new set prior to leaving a session and not run at all with that set.
