Noticed this also. In practice at Melbourne I was in a Lotus and saw a Red Bull coming up behind me so I moved offline and slowed down so it could go by but It wouldnt. I literally had to come to a complete stop way offline and he finally went by really really, slow.

Also, as much as I hate to do this, there is a nasty bug in the setups that people are exploiting. Setting both springs to 11 allows you to run your car like it's on rails. I've not tried it, but it's been confirmed by plenty of people. Codemasters is aware of it, but no mention of a fix or not.Steam: BahnzoComment

In practice they do act weird, but I was referring to in a race. In practice, even the top cars will slow and allow you to pass if you come within a certain distance of them.

I only mention it, because it will be exploited online. I just tried it, at Spa in the Red Bull. Eau Rouge, flat with the wing open. It really does drive like it's on rails, and pretty much ruins the otherwise great handling model.Steam: BahnzoComment

Well...after spending some more seat time in Melbourne, finally turned my fastest lap at 127.4....there is a 126 in there, I just have to find it. Big Carolina and I are going to do a co-op season, so I hoping there are no serious bugs/glitches to ruin that fun.

Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion
I've run one race at 50% with full everything, and had multiple AI cars out at the end of the race. The fact is, F1 cars are much more reliable these days than they were 5-10 years ago, and the retirements just aren't as frequent as they once were.
That said, the game probably could use some work in that area. I think part of the problem is the teams don't want their cars shown breaking down, etc. The devs have spoken about just that and mentioned they weren't able to have cars as fragile as they should be due to the constructors wishes.Comment

Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion
alot of car manufacturers allow there cars to be used but will not let the game developer have the car breakdown 100%(normally part of licensing agreement). I remember this arguement before in forza when the devs said they couldnt have the cars have a 100% mechanical breakdown. i wouldnt be surprised if the f1 teams didnt want it either. Stinks that its this way for us racing fans.Comment

Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion
Well i dived into this game yesterday. I must have turned over 100 laps at melbourne. I have all the assists on except i keep turning on and off the brake assist. I hate having that one on as i feel i have no say on what the car is doing BUT i was having so much trouble when i would turn it off..ha. The best time i could turn was 1:33. Then today i wake up to turn 10 quick laps before work and i was determined to never use that brake assist again and bammmm it clicks for a total newbie 1:31. Still not awesome, but for me it is.
This game is a bit like golf. Frustrating like hell but every once and awhile you hit that sweet shot that makes all that frustration worth itComment

Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion
Im on the 4th race of my career and have had 3 rain events out of 4. It has yet to rain in practice or qualifying in any event but rained in the races at Malaysia, China and Turkey. The rain is cool but the frequency for rain events seems a little high so far. Has anyone else gotten alot of races in the rain thus far in their career?Comment

1st career race i managed a pretty poor 21st in my lotus. The intensity of struggling to keep my position and to try and gain ground on the cars ahead was unreal. It's a very rare thing to have that sheer adrenaline rush from other video games.Comment
