I haven't even pushed the buttons for those features yet. Just trying to keep the car on the track for now LOL.

I know you weren't boasting....it just made me realize I still need to get down a few seconds before I'll even be competitive. Of course, I never did manage to run a completely 'clean' lap either. Just need to hit the track's rhythm and I'll be okay.

Also the AI is still poor at overtaking so when on start I get in front of some better cars they stay behind me while everyone in front are building a huge gap.
This year there was one race where 23 cars finished, and another where every single car finished the race. I think you'll find this is not as bulls**t as you make out

      Unlikely? Yes. Bulls**t? No.

Something I have been noticing now 7 races in....the AI is a lot faster in qualifying then in race, just like last year. I thought maybe it was DRS and KERS, but I doubt it. I use up my KERS, and use DRS 3-4 times a lap per track. On top of that, I am outpacing guys during the race on options when I am running primes. I really want to bump up to the legendary difficulty, but this qualifying in the back of the pack is a real pain. Is anybody else seeing this?

Oh yes, I was going to bring that up too, I see the AI making a decent amount of mistakes on professional level. The last race I just had Hamilton set the fastest lap leading the race, and then I assume he destroyd his car on the wall of champions, because he DNF'd and I got to drive by his carnage. 19 car finished that race.

I agree also, this game is vastly improved over 2010 from the AI to the driving model. I have not dived into online yet but offline I can't ask for anymore.
You can drive with a controller and a wheel, but man it really shines when you have a wheel. Using KERS and DRS is sooo much easier on the wheel though.
I don't know man but some peoples expectations are beyond reach, and no matter what some of these game companies do they will never be happy.
I have yet to encounter a bug or glitch, the only issue I have is trying to remember to use KERS & DRS.

Edit: I would love if some us 360 players can get together and have a couple of online races over the weekend.

So you have seen no DNF's Rive( which I absolutely take you at face value) but we have other guys playing the same title, who have seen them. I wonder why some are seeing them, and some are not.

LOL, I have not been online in a minute (school and work). I will be on this weekend though, most def not anything personal. Believe me I want to play this game more than I am now, I need to find a way to clone myself and send the clone to work and school.

Edit: Oh yeah Vettel had a DNF after leading with 3 laps to go in my very 1st career race.

in my first career race in the dry hamilton and sutil had dnf's. What difficulty are you running it on riva? damage settings? just wondering if this has anything to do with it. im currently playing on legendary with full sim damage no assists.

ROABS...curious, how has the AI Qualifying time's been on legendary? I'm playing no assists on pro, and am getting torched in Q, but am running real good race pace on raceday...

The ai in p1 at australia ran some crazy fast times around 1.20.xxx then in qual webber ran a 1.23.xxx..
at kuala lumpur top p1 time was 1.32 and top qual was 1.33.xx and i ran a 1.34.xxx in qual in the force india car. There race speeds drop id say by a cpl seconds per lap which seems about right since in qual you should be running quicker times. I like that in the force india car you have no chance to beat the top cars like redbull or mclaren on the highest difficulty as in rl the only way that happens is if they dnf.

One thing that im not sure about is, it seems if i have an amazing lap in p1 the a.i will drive even quicker to beat my time.

riva, im not running full race length i believe its 20% that i have it set to ill double check when i get home.

I've run one race at 50% with full everything, and had multiple AI cars out at the end of the race. The fact is, F1 cars are much more reliable these days than they were 5-10 years ago, and the retirements just aren't as frequent as they once were.

That said, the game probably could use some work in that area. I think part of the problem is the teams don't want their cars shown breaking down, etc. The devs have spoken about just that and mentioned they weren't able to have cars as fragile as they should be due to the constructors wishes.

A couple negatives to point out.....

AI cars sometimes don't pass...at all. I've slowed down right on track and had every car behind me come to a stop as well. Something needs to be seriously looked at here.

Online: People can't join a qualifying session while the session is running. You can join, but you can't run, which means watching until the session is over and the race starts. This is bad two ways. First, people just don't want to sit and watch for 10 mins while other people run, so they quit and this makes it hard to get races with more than 5-6 people usually. Second, it forces people to jump right into a race with no track time, so they don't have a feel for the track and it causes all sorts of issues.
