You can only race single races on split screen. Co-Op Championship is online only.

I qualified 8th at Spa in my career. The race was in heavy rain so I saw an opportunity to try and get the Senna-esque achievement(Take the lead on lap 1, in heavy rain, after starting 5th or lower). I managed to pass Lewis Hamilton in the final corner before the start-finish line for the lead and didnt get the achievement! Anybody have any idea why that is?

EDIT: Ive tried and thought I accomplished the Senna achievement a couple times in my career to no avail. However, I tried it in a quick 1 lap grand prix in heavy rain at Melbourne with Mark Webber and it worked after starting 8th!
I finished my first season in my career with Team Lotus which I went through on amateur to get through it quickly and learn the tracks and also so I could get on a better team. About halfway through the first season I was asked who my rival was in an interview. I chose the 2nd place guy at the time Sebastian Vettel. Little did I know that I would only recieve contract offers from the lower tier teams and the rival I chose Red Bull; even though I won the championship . I dont want to race for Red Bull... I want to beat Red Bull lol. So Im going to restart my career with Force India and work my way to McLaren.

Going to rush through the first season tonight so I can start doing 100% races on Professional difficulty with McLaren. Found a really good website for F1 2011 setups... link here: http://www.racedepartment.com/f1-2011-setups/

Was able to run a 1:24.6 at Melbourne with Red Bull in practice for my 2nd season of my career(without 11-11 spring glitch lol).
Overall, having a blast with this game right now! Starting to get very interested in watching F1 because of this game! Watched the race at Singapore and enjoyed it thoroughly even though Vettel destroyed the competition!

1:24 at Melbourne....dammmn. Way to go, Brew! Drive it like you stole it!

I ran TTs at Melbourne the other night, got down from 1:36 to 1:31 and felt I had really accomplished something LOL. Guess I'll have to dumb the ai down for the races to hang in there.

        Thanks Dan!

Think I might stick with Red Bull and maybe switch over to McLaren if I feel like it after my second season. Cant decide!

Couple things worth mentioning; is that I noticed there isnt really a silly season on the game. Now that Im in Webber's seat he has disappeared from the grid. Kovalainen is back in the Lotus seat that I vacated. Also, the cars dont change numbers from season to season. I was hoping to see the #1 on my car and the #2 on Vettel, #3 on Button etc... but that didnt change at all. My spot in the garage changed though! Guess Im the #1 driver at Red Bull now with the #2 on my car!

LOL, I wouldn't drive for Red Bull...like you said, I'd want to try to beat them every race.

Silly Season, there's an idea that would be nice for both NASCAR The Game 2012+ and future F1 games. Having the chances to try to improve your chief/crew and teams (or retain the ones you have). Would add a fun element as an 'off season' thing. Maybe some r&d and testing, too, before season starts?

I dont want to drive for Red Bull but I dont want to have to go through my first season again either, lol!

You know there is free agency in football, basketball, etc. so like you said why cant there be a silly season of sorts in F1 or NASCAR? It would be crazy to see Denny Hamlin go to Hendrick or Fernando Alonso go to Red Bull! I like the R&D idea for the "off-season." A paint booth for the cars and helmets would be amazing... that would make F1 2012 the best racing game ever!!! Eutechnyx needs to just give up... I gave up on NTG '11 a while ago and doubt I'll be buying NTG '12. Codemasters needs to make a NASCAR game!

Honestly, all of the tracks are good so you really can't go wrong. Red Bull will probably be one of the faster cars to use.

Put me down for one in the rain since I am terrible in those conditions

Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion

Finally got a chance to put this in and played a full race at Monza to try it out. I turned all assists off, put AI on 'hard' and climbed into a Williams, since that's the car I'll start career in.

I didn't qualify all that well and got a 10 place grid penalty, so needless to say, I started 24th. About 10 to 15 laps in, I managed to climb to 18, stayed there for most of the race, then ultimately finished in 17th.

In the williams car during the race, I never managed better than 1:27 so I've got some work to do, lol. But I enjoyed it. Handling is much better than 2010.

Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion

I noticed there is no clear cut way to change the simulation settings. I was running 20% races with tyre wear and fuel simulation off for my first career season. I started my career over with Force India and there was no way to change the simulation settings. Only race length and short or long race weekend. I had to start an online session with the settings I wanted to reflect what I wanted to race in grand prix mode or career. It seems that whatever settings online reflect what Im racing in grand prix or career. It even changes my driving assist settings for other modes if I go into an online match with assist restrictions.

Also, I had already started my first practice session at Melbourne and chose retire to paddock under engineer. So I decided to restart my career a second time so I could get the first race to reflect the race settings I wanted. When I did this and it brought me to 'pre-season' there was no sound and nothing came up for me to change my name. I went to the dashboard and restarted the game and the same thing happened.... frustrated I deleted my profile and went to start fresh. It still happened. Pissed off, I turned the 360 off. Restarted the 360 and took the disc out and cleaned it. Restarted the game and thankfully the career restart worked. Mustve been some kind of glitch but I lost all my stat progression online and so forth(not that it was good anyway) so be very careful restarting your career if anyone plans on doing so.

Does anyone know a better way to change the simulation settings? You cant do it from career or grand prix mode from what I can see. Nor can you do it from My F1.

Last year, one of the options (difficulty I think) on the Grand Prix menu (the same menu you get before each career race could be expanded and had all the driving assists and sim settings. I bet it's the same and you did not notice.

Yes, its the same as last year....when you're are in your hospitality trailer and click to go to the race weekend, it'll pop up the race length and difficulty, click on difficulty to make changes to assists, and AI.

Also, you can change assists from the start menu in the paddock...I know this, because I race with no assists on a pad, but when it rains I have to turn on med TC, or else I am doing donuts the whole race lol

After all, I am still a noob at F1, LOL.
I actually realized my stupidity last night and noticed you can do this in both grand prix and career.

I am proud to say that I turned a 1:21.093 lap at Melbourne in a McLaren on grand prix mode last night! Its taken alot of practice but hopefully I can translate my new found speed into all the other tracks!
