Well....on the downside, sorry to hear they went that direction. On the upside, I'm glad you guys saved me 40-ish dollars.

Re: GRID 2 impressions
After playing this, I have to say I much preferred the original Grid. Felt like damage was more punishing for one. I prefer the driving of the original, though this one isn't horrible by any means. I haven't played online, but the way you guys talk about it, I'm not sure I want to.
My biggest disappointment in this game is the career mode. What a huge step back from GRID. The WSR stuff just feels so forced. I much preferred building a team, trying to get that team to the top of the standings while also building my own rankings. The AI in the career mode seems worse too. Everyone from 3rd place and behind seems really damn useless, but first and second drive like super humans till you catch them.
Really wanted to like this game more, seeing as GRID is one of my favorite racing games this generation, but I don't think it's something I will be playing all that much.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: GRID 2 impressions
Sure but people do it anyway.
Who wants cockpit view!?
But hardly anybody uses the cockpit view! That's what Codemasters had to say, anyway, about the discontinuation of the cockpit view in its latest racer, GRID 2. Try telling that to PC gamers, though. Following GRID 2's release last week, modders have been working to build their own cockpit view—here's what they've come up with so far.Comment

Re: GRID 2 impressions
I'm in season 5 now, still enjoying this game a lot. After playing Forza 4 (which I also enjoy) it's nice to have a game where I can just jump in a car and drive without having to spend time tuning just to get it to hold the turns. I think Codemasters did an excellent job with the handling of the cars. The tracks are beautiful as well. Chicago and Paris really take me back to Project Gotham Racing 2, they are very similar looking to the track in that game, and that's a good thing.
Online is a much better game when you play with friends that race clean. Playing with random people is still a slam fest.Comment

Re: GRID 2 impressions
So after a week or so... Are you guys who are playing with steering wheels having an easy time. Grid 1 had a notoriously high learning curve for steering wheels how are you guys faring after about a week.
Customization? How it is it in this game... Are you about to do what you want? Is it better than the preloaded stuff from Grid 1Comment

Re: GRID 2 impressions
I have zero issues with a wheel. I settled in on using my Thrustmaster T500RS, and manual H-pattern shifter. So I can grab gears with an H-pattern shifter, 1-hand the wheel for drifts and whatnot, and have no issues at all controlling the game with a wheel.
Don't know about customization, because I just hit random and rolled with it.Comment

You have a bunch of premade vinyls that you have to unlock at different levels online. You can color each section (which there are 3). A lot of rims to choose from, which you can also color. You can add sponsors; I don't know how many different colors you can make those.
That's if you're talking about online..Comment

Re: GRID 2 impressions
I am loving it so far! Finally got hold of the control (somewhat) but those higher Tier Cars (looking at the Merc AMG 722 GT or something) is crazy to handle.
Online is a little frustrating with people ramming you off but still a great game.Comment

Re: GRID 2 impressions
Quite late but I hope the relevant people are still checking this anyway. (If there's anyone from Codemasters here.)
Togue is pretty terrible. The very first race the AI rammed into me and I was DQed. In a later race I took them into the wall just because that's how things were going angle wise and nothing happend.
Also as expected from the previews the corner cutting thing eventually became a problem. It's fine in most places but it makes Yas Marina nearly unplayable. The AI seems to get away with it and they'll frequently push me off the track resulting in me being punished when I'm just trying to pass on the inside.Comment

EDIT: My bad, didn't even notice you were talking about the AI. Don't venture online. It is probably 1000X worse.Comment
