There has been NOBODY on the servers every time I've checked. I'll let you know if and when I actually find somebody online. It's just how it goes with a pre-release preview. If you don't physically know another guy from another site who has it, multiplayer is tough to test. I do know you can race 4 at a time with a full field (according to EA) of AI cars. I only saw the option to create with 34 cars, so it may have been a connection thing.

Yes. I was chasing the #1 and #2 cars in a Busch race last night, and the #1 guy up and lost it on his own. I've seen numerous occasions where the AI will put itself in a wall.

How is the sound? I read somewhere that they really worked on making the sound as real as possible.

When there is a wreck, do the cars go flipping around all over the place (hated that in 04)

Do they have all realistic drivers in the Busch series and truck series?

How many paint schemes does Ricky Rudd have?

I really was impressed with the engine sounds from the Featherlites. I'll have to examine closer to see if the CTS/Busch/Nextel cars sound any different, but from casual drives at different times they sounded very similar.

I haven't seen flipping cars yet, mostly just "a$$-end-into-the-concrete" back-ins. Once I extend the race distance (after I win the Nextel cup, which should be by the weekend), I'll crank up the distance and see what kind of yellows I have. Heck, I might start a Nextel season instead of the Fight to the Top and try it there. Overall though, I haven't seen hugely exaggerated pileups. I haven't seen many at all though, with yellows off. I see clouds of smoke as I pass through, but I have no idea what caused it.

From what I can tell, there's a mixture of real and fictitious drivers in the top 3 series. The Featherlites are 100% fictitious. If I had to guess, I'd say there were 10 to 20 real drivers in the CTS and Busch series each.

Rudd had 3 or 4 paint schemes including the default, if I remember correctly. Each alternate scheme has to be unlocked through skill points (which are earned every time you hop on the track). Bad thing is, it doesn't tell you what paint scheme you're unlocking, but they're in order. You can guess pretty closely. I was looking for Tony Stewart, so I tried to count cars over to where #20 would be, then add a few for randomness. I hit Jeff Gordon and then worked my way backwards to unlock what I thought would be right around Stewart. I ended up getting a few of Rudd's and finally just started grabbing everything instead.

I can't believe they still can't get the framerate right.
                          That's just embarrassing.
Heck, Atari's Grand Prix Challenge for the PS2 had a buttery-smooth 60 fps.
EA just lost me on your framerate comments alone.

So what kind of rating are you giving it,and how does it compare to other xbox racers such as toca2. And is it worth the fifty bucks?
