Re: Project Cars 2 Review (PS4 Pro)
I'm really in a good place with PC2 right now, especially with the GT3s. Below is a quick video showing off one of my lucky passes at Bathurst against a mix of AIs and humans during an online race.
If you look closely you will see the video capture of me working the wheel. (Sorry for the low video quality.)

Re: Project Cars 2 Review (PS4 Pro)
A few things I wanted to mention that I knew were coming, but nonetheless glad to see on the consoles:
Always/Cornering Driving Line options - Pretty self explanatory. It was only on for corners before, now there's an option to show it for the whole track - which likely means it's not gonna bug out anymore, either. The line is green in acceleration zones now, not blue. Also brake zones are MUCH more conservative - it goes red before you should need to brake in most cars. I took an F1 onto Dubai and in most cases it was going red at 200 markers which is going to get you punted if you start braking there. It's up to you to find your ideal braking point within the red zone for the car you're sitting in.
Loose/Stable Settings added (PC Option at Launch) - I've been waiting for this one since I heard about it on the PC. Need to see how well (or if) I can drive the loose setups with a controller.
"Skip To End" bug is apparently fixed. I only had one race to test it so far, but no one had some ridiculous time faster than mine after simming through a long practice/qual session. And I've seen reports on other boards that it's fixed as well.
Pit box progress meter - this one's better described with a screenshot:
There are patch notes, but most of it is extremely vague so it's gonna be awhile before we know everything that went into this patch:
Improved driving line assist.
Various AI behavioural and race line improvements.
Multiple improvements and enhancements to multiplayer, and lobby handling.
Improvements and enhancements to audio and sound effects.
Improvements and enhancements to replays and replay cameras.
USB keyboard support improved.
Improvements, enhancements and fixes to Career flow.
Enhancements to various cars’ handling and standard setup improvements.
Tweaks and fixes to Achievement / Trophy unlock logic.
Tweaks and fixes to setup UI and flow.
Improved default assists for gamepad users.
Fixes and improvements to headlights and brake lights.
Fixes and improvements to ICM appearance and functionality.
Improvements and enhancements to steering wheel support.
Fixes and improvements to certain weather / tyre combinations.
Optimisations to tracks across the game.
Myriad render and performance tweaks and improvements.Comment

Um, that's not Bathurst. Great drive, though! LOL

Re: Project Cars 2 Review (PS4 Pro)
I'm at a loss with this game. I get one car class handling good then I choose a different class and it goes to hell. I love Project Cars 1 and I want to love this game , but it won't let me. I'm going to continue to mess with it until GT Sport releases , hopefully I can get it dialed in by then.
On a positive note the A.I. seems much better after the patch. I haven't seen any first corner pile ups and they are more aware of my position on the track, not getting rammed like I was before.Last edited by JMD; 10-13-2017, 04:55 AM.Comment

Re: Project Cars 2 Review (PS4 Pro)
I started out loving this game and if I stay with just a few of the car classes it is fine, but I want t be able to race all the classes without going through a ton of settings testing.
Edit: After a couple hours of testing this morning I've got the game set up so it feels pretty good with 80% of the cars. The other 20% I just won't use. I am going to contact Sony about a refund, from what I've been told from support on the forums if you have a legit explanation of why you want the refund they will usually give it to you one time only. So I'm going to give it a shot.Last edited by JMD; 10-15-2017, 07:53 AM.Comment

Re: Project Cars 2 Review (PS4 Pro)
It's worse in PC 2. In PC 1 I could go from a GT3 car to the Modern Stock car with no problem. In PC2 I can barely keep the Modern Stock car in a straight line. I hope I can find a decent middle ground but just playing a game shouldn't be this difficult. I think I'm going to look into seeing if I can get a refund.

Re: Project Cars 2 Review (PS4 Pro)
I’m using a controller , my settings vary depending on what I’m driving. I’ve shelved this game for now. I’m just not enjoying it like I did the first one. I’m getting my racing fix from GT Sport and F1 2017 for now.Comment

Re: Project Cars 2 Review (PS4 Pro)
FWIW, I use controller, PS4 Pro.
Finally started my GT career last night, as I keep going back to this game to give my 79.00 gaming investment in it another chance to engage me.
I was actually having a lot of fun racing and the AI seems to be pretty good so far. Here's what I did to help myself have fun:
First, I don't 100% like ANY of the driving views, so I went in to the options to look around some more (jeez they are deep) and each view is adjustable! So I selected cockpit view and set it from 75 to about 60 so that you are closer to the wheel (like you can do in GT Sport) and have better track vision. Difference maker!!!
Secondly, I took advantage of letting my crew chief make tweaks for me by just providing some feedback on what I'm experiencing (won't turn in to the start of corners, for example). Then, have HIM make some downforce or bias or gearing adjustments and suddenly I was competitive and had a driveable car! Hell, it felt more like PC1 again, which was a big step up from where I was. I'm not a gear-head type of guy and didn't want to mess with all that, but the game at least provides a means of assisting with your particular driving needs to get your car right.
So, so far anyway...thank goodness! I'm enjoying this game now for the purpose that I bought it for; a racing career mode. Yes, I have F1 2017 and it's career is the best, but I wanted another style of racing to compliment it.
Also, it's really fun to just take a Ford GT, select a quick race on the full California Highway run versus ANOTHER Ford GT, and go!
I know everyone has been having various issues and frustrations, and I just wanted to post that I'm happy to be finding some value here. I hope that it continues!GO 'HAWKS!
