When is the best time to try the qualy program during practice? I just ran one (which was extremely difficult to complete) but just restarted because actual qualy was way too easy (9th with a Williams), and i was still at Australia so it didnt matter.

Just wondering if me attempting it during P2 was the case for that, or if it even matters at all?

Doesn't matter which session you do it that I'm aware of

I just make sure that if I'm doing it, I do it right as the session starts, hoping for a clear of a track as possible. The less traffic, the better IMO

I wish they could better balance the AI between Qualifying and Race sessions though. Seems the AI is faster in Qualifying, than Race.

This series has had flashbacks for many years. In fact, I can't recall a game in this series that did not have this. Maybe the first one on 360...

2017 has some way to go to instant replay to go back, but I'm talking about a button that just rewinds while you're in game. Does it have that?

                2017 has rewind, press Y/triangle. I can’t remember a codmasters F1 game that doesn’t have this feature.

Not just a quick button to go back. It has the flashback feature to go to instant replay and pick a point youd like to go back to.

I run my race weekend like this:

P1 - Track acclimatisation, Tyre wear, Fuel

P2 - Race sim x 2, use both the compounds I want to use in the race

                    P3 - Qualy sim

I don't bother with the ERS program, as if you do all the others you don't miss any points anyway. I run all the progams other than qualy in P1/P2 so I'm only doing those laps on my practice gearboxes, then leave qualy to P3 as the track is a bit quicker and to get the points for that session. If it's going to rain, I'll shuffle stuff around a bit, but still try not to do too many laps in P3 on the race gearbox.

Anyone else have a good system they use? Always looking for ideas haha

I'm more of a rush player... So my weekends look like this:

P1 - race sim (only one compound), tyre wear, fuel saving, ERS management

P2 - Qualy Sim (sometimes I have to run one of the above too if I run out of time P1)

P3 - Skip, or run one slow paced lap just to get some resource points.

As you said, I'll shuffle that around alot if there's rain in the forecast. To help compensate, I put a bit of R&D into durability too.

I skip the track acclimatization program though. Find it too time consuming and cumbersome trying to hit all the gates.

Yeah I know about that, was just hoping for a simple rewind button like Forza has though...

After the 1.06 patch today, I love the way this game is playing....

...AND they seemed to fix that damn stutter that was wrecking my race replays, and now I can appreciate even MORE how amazing the replays are this year. Love how the sparks look this year down those straightaways!
