I'm glad these little hotfixes come out, but it's not great that we're in the "by fixing something we break something else" point.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Review - A Legacy of Love on Display
Jumped on sport mode after basically ignoring it since early June. I love when I'm able to jump on early in the morning for Sport races. Always have good time and end up in interesting lobbies. I did Daily Race C and got thrown into a lobby with A/B/C ranked drivers and I'm only a D. I put up a 1.43 (5 seconds off the top time) in qualifying so I started 8th. Managed to finish 6th. Would have finished in 7th but someone forgot to do the mandatory tire change so they picked up a penalty. Felt good to have a clean race and hold my own. I started of a bit nervous but once I just focused on the racing and not avoiding the chaos I settled in. If only all the races could be that good.
Still wish the big updates had a bit more meat to them though. I know they are going for the long term live service type of thing but man this drip feeding is painful. Need more courses just not variations of existing ones. Weather and day night cycles for all tracks.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Review - A Legacy of Love on Display
Since I haven't posted on this thread in a while. Here's an update for you guys. I FINALLY got my PSN platinum trophy for this game! It wasn't as bad as I thought, but the two hardest ones to get in my opinion are buying the three old race cars (XJ13, 330 P4, and Ford MK4 to be exact), and finishing 50 sport mode races.
Speaking of the online racing, it is good if you start near the front, but otherwise it's hit or miss at times even despite myself being an A Driver Rating this whole time. I actually had quite the challenge with the Honda Civic Type R '97 daily race over this weekend and the Mazda RX8 daily race some time ago.
So, here's my updated Good, Bad and the Ugly for GT7
The Good:
Graphics are still awesome even on the PS4.
Customization of the cars are significantly better than what it was in previous games!
If you set the AI difficulty to HARD, the racing can actually be quite intense and challenging even for my standards, and that's coming from someone that has playing since the first one came out!
The Bad:
Still difficult to grind credits without using micro transactions, but at least it's not as bad as it was in GT5 but it's still pretty brutal to do so!
Photo Mode is nice looking, but man it really takes a lot of time to master every detail in it, which is not for everyone!
Is it just me or is the main career mode even after the add-on events still a little short for my liking.
The Ugly:
4WD cars still dominate the Meta especially in online play, which is not a surprise!
For online races, not that many people want to give the majority of the group 3 and group 4 cars a proper stab at things.
The Roulette Ticket system is rigged to some extent, prove me wrong!
Conclusion: Way Better than the last three GT games for sure. However, it's somewhere in the middle among all of the mainline GT games in my opinion."Either the car is stationary, or it's on the move." Murray walker

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Review - A Legacy of Love on Display
Now that I have a PS5 is this worth getting for a casual racing fan?
I didn't put a ton of time into it, but I enjoyed Sport on the PS4. Leaning toward just sticking with it, but GT7 being on sale has me at least thinking about picking it up.Comment

Is it worth it? Well, do you like cars and racing games? If yes, then yeah probably. Especially at a discount. I can say that I did have a lot of fun with it for a few weeks going through the short campaign and obtaining a few cars. But I can't give it a ringing endorsement either as I haven't touched it in 6-7 months for the reasons that I listed above.Comment

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Review - A Legacy of Love on Display
The economy in this game is still abysmal.
Fired it up for the first time since I think May to see what has changed. Driving and graphics are still great, but I had forgotten how much I hated the starting grid structure of this game. It's ridiculous that you have to make up 20+ seconds because the game has you on a rolling start with all cars spread seconds apart from each other. I guess they have to do it this way because the AI just isn't very good, and I could live with that if the game economy wasn't so completely broken. Race payouts relative to the cost of buying cars and upgrades is so incredibly anti-player that it just feels demotivating.Comment
