    Re: TopSpin 2K25 Impressions Thread

Once again MJWizards, I couldn’t agree more.

You’re mad at yourself? I bought the $99 deluxe version of the game!

As you very well know, the reason I keep purchasing NBA 2K titles is because of classic / era teams. Topspin’s selling point for me is Legend players—namely Andre Agassi. But despite the clunky player movement, Tiebreak is looking better.

If Topspin doesn’t make some major changes—and why would they, because it would almost be like programming a new game—then I may lean towards getting Tiebreak.

I love the Laver Cup addition. I was hoping for something like this in PGA 2K. I hope this leads to a Federation and Davis Cup. Still need to fix the injuries in Career mode and I really would like a tournament mode added and the Doubles online and more online modes, plus make it possible to play classic tennis in the online mode. 6 games per set and 3 to 5 sets if we want. How hard is that 2K!!

I'm not saying it is, but when the Alt Era clothing shots of Steffi Graf appear in the trailer, it looks like a younger face model--especially the '91 model.

Also, I have to admit that was a good camera angle of her hitting a backhand because it made it appear as if she dips her head just like she did in real life.

I’ll probably post this on the Topspin Discord as well, but the recent announcement has Steffi Graf as the Season 3 Alt Era outfit pro—this pic from Topspin in May has who appears to be Johnny Mac….

I know, and you know me well so you know that the major selling point for me was the Legends too, since they got my 3 fav tennis players ever (Federer, McEnroe, Agassi).
I was under the impression that more sig style for the other licensed guys were on the way, but thats not the case and its very disappointing.

Im really thinking abotu buying TIEBREAK, and im also pretty sure that we can re-create an almost perfect Andre Agassi with the community creation center. Im going to wait for some early review but im probably gonna buy it.

I've said it previously, but with a roster this small, there's no excuse to not have sig styles for all of the players; lack of resources/manpower is not an excuse.

If its player creation suite is good, I may purchase Tiebreak as well. On a positive note, the dark Laver Cup courts make the game look a little better (along with the lighting and contrast).

EDIT: forgot to mention that the price was raised for alt pro oufits from 680 to 710.

Player\Court Creation center for TIEBREAK is really deep imho
I'm really feeling the itch to buy it...the Djokovic Challenge mode is also very cool, since let you re-play some legendary match and also unlock some younger and of course better version of Roger, Rafa, Murray and more.

I really want to try Tiebreak just because of all the customization and roster, but the weird movement and physics has me hesitant. Topspin has its flaws (always has), but the physics and movement look a lot more like real tennis to me.

I agree. I watched a video of the included players yesterday--noticed that some of them have many free clothing options from which to choose. Djokovic's serve animations and Nadal's forehand animation look good.

But like you said, the movement is weird (and off-putting). On a few points, Nadal took off running....only to move about 3 steps. I saw a player look as if his body was malfunctioning waiting for a return of serve. Lots of weird and wonky movements.

i couldnt resist and i bought TieBreak yesterday. Yeah, i can confirm that there are indeed some movements issues, especially for volleys and stuff like this but players graphic is awesome, roster is huge and customization options are top.
I must add that despite the problems i like it so far, and when you get used to the controls you get a way better feeling.

This is a quick game between me (Federer) vs Cpu (Berrettini)

Like i said, getting used to the controls is key here.
