Re: TopSpin 2K25 Impressions Thread
I don't have the game, but in YouTube videos I've seen, the real pros are in career mode. But at the start, you're in the lower ranks and play against fake AI opponents. When you get to the top level, you'd start to face the actual pros.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 04-27-2024, 02:44 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

So if one was just interested in offline career mode and nothing else which version should one get? Like is there any extras in deluxe or premium versions like courts, etc.?Comment

Re: TopSpin 2K25 Impressions Thread
Just an FYI - there's no completely "offline" career mode. While you only play AI opponents in career, you MUST be online to access career mode.
The Standard Edition comes with just the game. There's also a cross-gen standard edition which includes the base game for both last- and current-gen systems.
The Deluxe Version comes with the cross-gen game plus:
Under the Lights Pack
Serena Williams Alternate Outfit
Roger Federer Alternate Outfit
Wilson Nightfall Bundle
Night-time Majors
New Wave Pack
Carlos Alcaraz Alt Outfit
Iga Swiatek Alt Outfit
Francis Tiafoe Alt Outfit
New Wave Glasses
New Wave Top
New Wave Bottoms
New Wave Shoes
New Wave Wrist Bands
Rookie Rise Pack
1x MyPlayer Accelerator to Lvl 10
1700 VC
The Grand Slam Edition includes all that, plus:
Grand Slam® Champions Pack
Championship Racket
Championship Serve
All Access Pass
Premium Centre Court Pass 1
Premium Centre Court Pass 2
Premium Centre Court Pass 3
Premium Centre Court Pass 4
Premium Centre Court Pass 5
Premium Centre Court Pass 6
Australian Open Logo T Shirt
Roland-Garros Logo T-Shirt
US Open Logo T Shirt

Re: TopSpin 2K25 Impressions Thread
Anyone else find there's NO WAY to advance beyond the first lesson in advanced ( Groundstrokes)?!!!!
I've hit good and perfect into the zone and NEVER get a point to get past the first damn lesson of the advanced...
If anyone has a suggestion, it's a real deal breaker atm
Thank youComment

Yes I kind of figured you always have to be connected. Just how most games are these days. The premium center court passes, what’s in them? Are they just for online? What’s in Wilson Nightfall bundle? I’ve looked everywhere trying to find out.Just an FYI - there's no completely "offline" career mode. Re: TopSpin 2K25 Impressions Thread
Re: TopSpin 2K25 Impressions Thread
Wilson Nightfall Pack looks like it's black/dark gray clothing and a couple rackets.
The Premium Centre Court Passes sound like they have cosmetic clothing items, XP and VC boosts, and things like that. Sounds like what they did in the PGA 2K23 Clubhouse Passes - there's a Premium Tier you pay for and get more items, or a Free Tier where you get a few items. I don't think the rewards are online only...it looks like it's just apparel and gear you can use for your MyPlayer.
Watch this video starting here...he goes over a few of the items in the Pass for this season: https://www.youtube.com/live/2QRDZGs...Y9R5fcz&t=7520
And here's a bunch more info on the Season 1 pass from 2K - it doesn't say everything that's in the pass, but it gives quite a bit of info and detai: https://topspin.2k.com/2k25/centre-c...ss/season-one/Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 04-27-2024, 12:43 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Sounds like I just want standard edition because I don’t care about those extras.Comment

Re: TopSpin 2K25 Impressions Thread
I got the deluxe edition for the extras but I like the standard edition cover better. I’ll probably see if I can get the standard edition used just for the case—Williams and Federer are legends deserving of a “deluxe” cover since the Grand Slam edition isn’t physical.

Re: TopSpin 2K25 Impressions Thread
I bought this game and wondered how much I'd REALLY play it, but after reading reviews about it I got it for $51 on the PC and I will just say this: Now I remember why TopSpin was the king of Tennis!
After playing for 9 hours over the course of last night I think it's safe to say I'm addicted and simply delighted with the gameplay and immersion. This may give EA College Football a run for it's money for sports game of the year I think..
I made up a Playlist on Youtube for y'all who may be on the fence about it, and how it runs on the PC, here is a link

Re: TopSpin 2K25 Impressions Thread
You can choose one of several match format options, based on how long you want matches in career mode to go.
The options are: Dynamic, Super Tie Break, Short Set, TopSpin, and Real Tennis.
See here for how the options are laid out:

What camera angle is that? I like that a lot. Feels as close to first person as possible. Would be neat to play tennis in 1st person to be honest. Idk if I'd like it, but trying it would be fun.I bought this game and wondered how much I'd REALLY play it, but after reading reviews about it I got it for $51 on the PC and I will just say this: Now I remember why TopSpin was the king of Tennis!

Tiebreak to 7 or 10. 3 sets of 3. One set 3 games. Real tennis scoring option as well. I could be missing one option.
