BTW, i've been playing for a month now and never bothered to change my tv settings on the Wii settings to 480p.
I've had my Wii Connect on since Xmas, haven't had any issues, but some have reported issues with it. I know Johnny had his Wii die from it. Seems hit or miss.

I had moved the system to another TV and laid the Wii flat and I "think" that's where my problem came from (easier access to the Cube controller ports). When I packed up the system I noticed that while the top was warm, the bottom was much hotter.

There shouldn't be any problems with WiiConnect if it's vertical, since it gets the airflow on both sides.

I should be getting my system back next week and you can bet it'll be vertical (I like the WiiConnect).

Ironically, I'm very against vertical systems, but the Wii seemed like it was made for vertical, everything about it screams vertical and it's been that way since launch. Maybe that's it.

Same here...like the 360 says "Xbox 360" horizontally, just seems right like that. The Wii says "Wii" vertically, so it just looks good vertically.

Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion

So I switched my router because of my regular internet issues, and now my Wii isn't connecting to the internet. At first it gave me error code "51330" and I would keep trying to test the connection, and nothing would come up. Then I cleared the settings and manually put it in and the same thing came up. Now, I cleared the settings again, and error code "51331" came up.

I changed my Wireless Channel on the router from 6 to 1 and still no dice.

What's the deal here? C'mon Nintendo, you're better than this ****.

EDIT: Figured it out. I had to allow MAC filtering (what in the hell is that, anyway?) to my router and had to add the Wii's MAC address to the allowed list.

I added Dbeth, Dondadda, Bacardi, Heelfan, mgoblue, JohnnytheSkin and SoMiss a couple minutes ago.

If you haven't added me yet, my # is: 1101-6337-9137-3252

                                Todays releases:

Metroid (NES, 1 player, Mild Fantasy Violence, 500 Wii Points): You should absolutely download and play Metroid, but please, once you've completed it, don't give away the secret twist ending. Why not let your friends be shocked when they discover that their manly lead man is not so much a man -- as a lady?

--Shining in the Darkness (Sega Genesis, 1 player, 800 Wii Points): This is the beginning of the Shining series, although it makes some significant departures from it. The series it would birth is probably enough to make it historically important, though not necessarily worthy of your cash. If you're a fan of dungeon RPGs though, go nuts.

--Cratermaze (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points): When you read that what you're about to play is "a comical action game set in a parallel world," you know you're in for something special. But when you find out that also, the game was originally called Booby Kids in Japan, you should strap in for the ride of your life.
