    Probably, but don't remember it.

I remember waiting and waiting for the first Play Action. Loved the angled field. Got it and my buddy and I played it all night (he slept over).

If you get it, let me know how the rosters are done.

I wonder if you can still do the onside kickoff glitch with SF.....Lott was a speed beast on the top side and would recover it EVERY time.

The only thing that bugged me was the speed of the game.....so slooooow.

How are they doing rosters for this one?

I remember playing Play Action back in the day - I probably still have the original cart stored in my parents' basement.

Dbeth, they probably have generic players, if I had to guess.
Been gaming since the Atari 2600, and hells no I won't stop!!!

I think I remember the SNES one. Isn't that the one where you could make your High School team play, and it was a slanted type field?

Yup! It also had college and NFL teams.

Ahh yes I liked that game. Was hard getting used to a slanted field, but I played the crap out of that.

Yep. The main problem with the game was there was no real "height" to the balls in the air. As long as you were in the path you could pick it.
Still loved the game though, back in the day.

I played Play Action Football to death. That game was cool. I just don't know how it's going to translate now. The problem with some old school games is that they're just not as good as you remembered back then.

yep. The Virtual Console review was 1 star I think. But the original Baseball got 1 star and I like that game.

'Play Action Football' didn't hold up at ALL. Big waste of five bucks (first deletion candidate when my windows get full). The rosters are a joke too. They just made a bunch of random names for the players (still remember Bobby Humphrey and Vance Johnson's faces though, LOL!).

I knew I should have just waited for 'Tecmo Super Bowl' for my old school football fix...oh well.

It's all made up names?! That sucks.

Yup...I played a quick Denver/Houston game and couldn't remember the Oilers running back at the time (thinking Mike Rozier) and then it popped up as Carragan or something lame.

At least you'll have lunch money for tomorrow, EG!

Unless Nintendo was going to go the APF route (signing individual players to deals), they cannot use the old names in the VC release - they don't hold the license to those names anymore.

Unfortunately, the same is true with Tecmo Bowl and the same will be true with Super Tecmo Bowl, or any other sports game on the VC for that matter.

Still, I can't get over how scared companies are these days in not even using ACCURATE NUMBERS for the no-name players. Talk about paranoia.

Well, Tecmo Bowl had all the real players, just their numbers. I was hoping PAF would have done the same. Oh well.

Wow, maybe I'll download it. That's great to hear re: the numbers.

I was under the impression that Tecmo Bowl on VC followed in the footsteps of EA and 2K and their treatment of non-licensed historical players in most of their sports games. Glad to see that at least some one is petrified of a far-fetched lawsuit.
