Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion

Congrats on the purchase. The Wiis are definitely becoming more and more readily available. The TRU here in St. Louis just got some in as did a TRU store in Chicago. So, if anyone is still looking for a Wii, call your local TRU.Just got a Wii and have a few quick questions:

-Do I need a memory card, and if so, how big? What are memory cards used for?

-I have wireless internet in my house. Is there a preferred wireless adapter to get for the Wii?

-What exactly is virtual console? I am guessing you need to be connected to the internet to use it. Is it sort of like a Nintendo store for older games?

Thanks for any and all info!PSN: sportdan30

Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion

You can get a heads up about VC releases HERE. Some recent news from that site include...

Smash Bros Brawl to feature VC Demos of the following games:
 - Ice Climber
 - Super Mario Bros.
 - The Legend of Zelda
 - Kid Icarus
 - Kirby’s Adventure
 - Super Metroid
 - StarFox 64

The idea is that gamers can have the chance to familiarize themselves with the past exploits of the many famous Brawl fighters. - LINK

Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion

Ive tried getting a singles match going in the tennis game, but Im pretty sure you cant do it. Maybe Im totally missing something here. The best way to find a wii is to get up early on sunday morning and look in the ads for circuit city and best buy. They will say when they have wii's available. Then go there before they open on Sunday morning and be there as soon as they open.

Yes, you can have singles matches in the tennis game.
I just want to be able to play one on one.
By the way- my wife found the wii for my birthday.
Gamestop had 2 shipped in when she called, and they gave her 15 minutes time limit to get there and pick it up.
Any other games like Big brain Academy?? I friggin love that game so far, but it looks like its gonna wear down pretty quick.Comment

Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion

I haven't downloaded a VC game in a long time on the Wii (I think Paper Mario was the last), but I heard they released Harvest Moon yesterday, so I think I'll grab that tonight.
Atlanta Braves - Auburn Tigers - Nashville Predators

Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion

I've got a question for people who would know more than me! I'm going back to Germany next week, and a friend of mine wanted a Wii from the states. I told him that the console is US region locked and some of the games he bought in Europe would not work. Is everything region locked like I have thought or am I wrong?Comment

Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion

Holy CRAP, the Wii rules! I was in Portland (Maine dummies) for the weekend, and decided after I called Target the day before that I would show up an hour before they opened to get a Wii (they got 25 in). Well, it sucked waiting in line for an hour in 10 degree weather, but it was worth it.

Ended up getting the Wii (with Wii Sports), Zelda, Mario Galaxy, and an extra controller/nunchuck as well.

Definitely had a blast with everything so far. Me and my fiance are addicted to Wii Bowling. When i've had time to myself to play, i've been playing Zelda like crazy, and it's absolutely amazing. Honestly, it's the first 3D Zelda i've ever REALLY played, and it's an incredible experience. Can't wait to try Mario Galaxy when I get the chance as well.

I can't believe that when The Show comes out, i'll have to balance time between all these games. Let alone, when GTAIV comes out... Comment
