Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion

Has anybody had this happen to them? I'm trying to figure out if its my system or just my cables.

I haven't hooked up my Wii since I moved almost a year ago. I got everything hooked up this weekend, but there were a couple problems with the screen. Most noticeably the colors were off (there was a very dull teal overcoat on everything) and whenever the menu would change pages/screens there would be screen-tearing straight across the screen.

I don't have any more cables (at least none I have been able to locate yet) so I don't know what exactly the problem is yet.

For the Wii U owners, Earthbound is now [finally!] available. If you haven't played this hilarious and excellent RPG, or just want to see a Japanese view of Americana, then it's worth the ten bucks.

According to a new post on Nintendo News, it looks like the once mighty gaming system giant could be working on a brand new console that could go up against the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Nintendo's latest venture, the Wii U is reportedly struggling so it makes sense for the company to think outside the box. A new console could be fun, don't you think?

If nintendo does this I will suspect there be extremely pissed off WiiU owners.

No me. I'm a tech nut and would be in line day one to grab it.

Although I'd be just as happy if they'd forego a console and simply develop games cross systems. I'll always support Nintendo whichever way they go.

I really wish Nintendo went this route.

IMO, there's nothing wrong with the Wii U. It just need more games.

The Wii didn't have the tech to compete with the PS3 and 360, but outsold those two.

People need to realize that it's all about the games.

The Wii was a fad. Nursing homes and people like my parents aren't picking up a Wii U.

Look at what you just said, the problem with this video game console is the lack of video games, something that is not expected to improve outside of 1st party titles which will only move the needle so much.

Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion

I wonder if NintendoFusion doesn't mean a new console but rather that they are making a deal with Sony and MS to being their IPs to Wii U and in turn have future IPs from those console over to the W ii U, maybe not ports per se but rather games based on the sony and MS catalog of IPs....

I mean that would align perfectly with the word Fusion and make Nintendo a boatload of money while growing the Wii u library as well...

All I want from Big N is a legacy machine that plays new Zelda, Mario, Metroid, etc, BUT also can dock/interact/support the handhelds.

If you base getting a nintendo console on anything but first party games your an idiot, it's all about getting the first party nintendo games, not third party

You make it sound like that's a conscious decision Nintendo made, when instead for multiple generations it's instead become an unfortunate reality.

Like other consoles' exclusives it is a factor, but there is a ton of licensing money in a successful third party ecosystem and is important not just for consumers but for Nintendo's ROI on the console.

fad. a thing that becomes very popular in a short amount of time, and then is forgotten at about the same speed.

I don't think there's much wiggle room there for the Wii.
