Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion

    I'll have one by Wednesday
I'm very happy I held out and didn't buy one from Ebay. So far I have Zelda(in hand) extra remote and SD card. Not sure what else I want right away?
    Any games I should consider?

I'm essentially in the same boat except the extra Wii mote is coming with the console.

Do you have any GC games?

I alread have Mario 64 on the DS. I'd love it if they made Sonic CD available in the future, I'd download that in a second.

I'd give Madden a look, Skyboxer, I'm having a blast with it and I've been longtime Madden *****. The learning curve is a bit steeper than Zelda and Wii Sports, but once you get the hang of it it feels very intuitive. Me and my buddy had a blast with the 2 on 2 mini game.

As for a great Gamecube game, I'd highly recommend Paper Mario. One of the best games of the past decade.

          Yep I still have:
All the Zeldas(except LOZ 1 and 2 as I will get those when I can as they are packaged), All the mario parties, Eternal Darkness, All the Rogue Squadrons, Mario Star and RE4.
Also have 2 GC memory cards and 2 controllers.

I had Paper Mario and loved it. I traded it in for some reason. I'll get it back sometime.

Quick question. I have a non wireless router. Do I really ned to get a wireless one or will the adaptor be fine to use for the Wii to hook online?
Didn't really want to fork out more $ if I can help it.

Not to get entirely off topic here, but how is Paper Mario? How long is it? Is it as fun as the platformers? What exactly is the premise?

It's basically a RPG of sorts. Many elements and puzzles. Like having to get the ability to turn yourself into a paper airplane to get across certain areas. Long play value.

I was playing around with Somic and it was a blast - just like it was back in the day...I was also looking at future games and it looks like we just might get Street Fighter 2, Contra 3 etc....

If there was one game I wish we could get, it would be Konami's TMNT: Turtles in Time - it was awesome to play back in the day

YOu will have to wait for them to release the lan adapter in decemer, but if you can hold off then it'll be fine.

i would recommend the wireless router over the lan adapter since you would be setting up your household to have a wireless access, in case you ever decide to get a laptop or whatever.

Great game. My wife has gone through it twice because of how much she loved it. Its pretty long the first time through since you are in discovery mode. the battles are alot of fun and have a simple strategy to them.

One of the best Mario games made period, a long game and stellar reviews.

Has anybody downloaded Mario 64 yet? I'm curious how large the file is. I just picked up a one gig SD card yesterday so I should be ok for a good while with SNES and NES downloads, but since the N64 was cartridge based I'm guessing those games were pretty large.

the console comes with 512 of internal memory, so the answer to your question is no.
