Anyone know if you are able to hook up the PS3 to a computer monitor like you can with the XBOX 360? Are there any VGA cables for the PS3? I tried searching the web for this information but have come up short. Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

I tried to go the HDMI to DVI route but the picture quality sucked. Other than that, I don't know of a way to do it.

I couldn't find this info, but is there a way to charge the controller without having the system on? Or does the PS3 have to be on to charge it? THanks.

Also, FWIW you can charge it using the charger for the ipod shuffle, the tiny one. I do this from time to time since this plugs into the actual wall outlet and allows me to continue to play while charging since the PS3 and CPU arent in the ideal position.

Yes, I just got through putting this together.

I am using a Gateway 24" Widescreen HD Monitor with HDMI/DVI cable from Monoprice. It looks GREAT!!

For Sound I used an older Surround sound receiver i had and hooked the optical cable to it.

And I just added a HDMI switchbox to share the monitor with my PC.

yeah i have the 22inch gateway..it has component input as well as vga ,and dvi..so it look pretty good ,as well

Well maybe my monitor just can't support a high enough resolution for it to look good, going the DVI route. It just looked....bad. Like...not even HD.
