    360 Problems, discuss them here

...well not completely dead but pretty much might as well be. It started with Oblivion where the game froze up constantly. Then the graphical glitches came up in Oblivion constantly when it wasn't freezing up. Well I thought (hoped) it was just that game because I could play NBA2K7, CHOOPS2k7 and Rainbow Six Vegas just fine for hours and have no problem. Well last night I fired up Madden to play a friend and to my horror I go into the game and all I see is a bunch of graphical boxes and weird triangles of different shapes and colours with just the players name who has the ball moving around. Tried NCAA 2007 and exact same thing.

I know this is not how most of you guys 360's died. I've never had any rings of death (yet) and it seems the newer games run just fine, but older ones don't. It almost seems as if the 360 itself is fine overall but the video card inside of it is somehow corrupted. And no I've never had any heating issues at all.

Anyways, my next pay I'm going to buy a new 360 at Walmart and exchange it with this one. My question to you guys is, should I keep my current hard drive or not? If I copy all my saved games to my memory card then will I lose anything? For things like themes and games I've bought online, how do I get those back? Will it let me re-download them without charge?

You can redownload the arcade games. Any silver accounts you may have, will not have access to any of the XBLA games though. And you will not be able to play the XBLA games if Live is down or offline.

Alright cool, I imagine same applies to themes? What makes me angry is this thing is just a little over a month outside of warranty and it dies. And my Falcon computer died 4 months out of warranty. LoL, some luck lately I've been having.

Correct, it applies to anything downloaded off Live, sorry, should have said that.

        Good luck!

I saw some weird graphics as well, but then ended up with the red rings.

As long as the new 360 runs fine with the old hard drive, I would keep the old drive and return the broken 360 the new drive attached.

And I bet you took good care of your 360 right? It sux man and i'm sorry to hear your 360 kicked the bucket. Just like I was trying to tell you and Sky the 360 leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to reliability no matter how well you take care of them and the news are not perfect either.

IMO you're doing the right thing in pawning it off on Walmart. I plan to do the same thing when mine breaks.

I don't think there is many of us on here at OS left with launch 360's.

Behindshadows 2 and Sky were saying how those with defective 360 shouldn't blame MS. That the blame should fall on the end user as well. I agreed with that but most of us who's had a 360 die took extreme care of their system.

It's a shoddy system plain and simple. These problems should have been rectified by now but they haven't.

Yeah man, it's on a table with free air space all around it (same for the power supply) and it's never been moved or fallen or anything. I'll let you know how the new one is. I guess i'll try the old hard drive for a few days as you say and see if I have any issues.

Exactly what I did. I picked one up from Microcenter for my Son and his froze/crashed so I exchanged it 3 days ago and low and behold this one is freezing/locking up. I am pissed right now. I love the systems but I am seriously thinking about giving up. This is BS at its finest, these systems are not well built and MS is well aware of this. "END OF STORY"

Yeah it froze playing CH2K7 yesterday twice/ back 2 back so I shut the system down Started out today with with TW07 then tried RB6 and freezing started. Funny thing though I was in EB games today and the guy there told me they can't even give the PS3 away. Could just be the area but they are everywhere here in Cincy, OH

That's interesting regarding the PS3. I went to get a haircut yesterday and the EBgames next door had a big sign out front that said "PS3 Here Now!" The girl working the counter said they weren't selling as fast as they expected. That's surprised me.
