Should i attempt the "towel trick"

    Hi guys,

My xbox 360 just broke down, just wondering if i should try the towel trick before giving up and sending it back to Texas. For those who don't know the towel trick involves wrapping your 360 in a towel for 20 minutes so that it overheats and apparently certain parts of the 360 expand so that it works again.

    Opinions?

That sounds like a bad idea.

          What the hell?

If that doesn't work, try bashing it with a hammer until it is in about 15-20 pieces. Then, press A, Y, LB, RB, Up, Down, UP, Left, X, and finally B as quickly as possible and the system should put itself back together and work like brand new.

I did the towel trick on mine about a week ago. I figured since my warranty was out I had nothing to lose. To my surprise it worked for about 5 days. Then I got the three red lights again. Then I tried this trick as shown on youtube. I don't get the lights everytime I turn it on, but when I do this has worked everytime.

put it in the microwave. It will warm up faster that way.

Since it's overheating you might want to try and cool it down. Throw it in a bathtub filled with cold water and it should work fine.

If you plan on sending it back anyway (assuming you have insurance on it), you might as well try the towel trick just for ****s and giggles.

Just store it in the feezer, and when you want to play pull it out. Should help out with the overheating.

I thought the towel trick consisted of winding up your towel and wetting the tip and then snapping it so that it whips your 360.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.
