how do you do the updates for the games, is it like the 360, like when you put the game in it will default you to do a update? Or do you have to do it different.

I think some games do it automatically. I know for The Show though you have to go to the PSN Store and download it and install it yourself.

Ordered a new HDD for my PS3 last week, just got it today at work, going to install it when I get home from work. I have then 40gb, I ordered a 120gb, got it for $70 from one of my sites, pretty good price.

very easy man, very easy..Just take the HDD out and take the old drive out of the caddy and put the new one in and thats it, it's easy.

Can I ask a question? Why did you need that extra space? It's not like there's a whole lot out there right now on the Playstation Store to take up space on the HDD that came with the unit.

because I wanna start puting all my pictures and music on my PS3....I have a lot of music and pictures.

On another note, a friend and I watched Hannibal Rising or whatever it's called, the regular dvd, on my PS3 last nite and the picture was absolutely georgous. She was like, "I wish I had an HDTV, the picture is so clear!" I can honestly admit, I could barely see the difference in Spiderman 3 Blu-Ray and the regular DVD we had last nite. I'm sitting here thinking, if any regular dvd looks this good, why should I spend more on Blu-Ray? I guess it also helps that I have a Vizio LCD.

Hey guys...just picked a 40 gig PS3 with Unchartered last night....Really happy with my purchase.

I was surfing around and found something about turning the "rgb range" to "full" instead of "limited" in the display settings (they also recommend turning "super white" on). Once I made the change, the black level and crispness of my picture significantly improved. Colors look less washed out, etc...

My only concern is whether or not I'm losing certain shades of black in this process. My tv is relatively new (about two years), so perhaps it supports this "full rgb range". I'm going to test out the blu ray to see if this setting improves the situation as well. Don't get me wrong- everything looked great to begin with, but this just kicks it up a notch.

Anyone else try this?

The Blu Rays look 10 X better IMO, but regular DVDs do look very good.
