Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
Same reason I can't play much Gears of War or Metal Gear Solid. Why they don't provide an alternate control scheme like that is beyond me. Games were created in that fashion since the days of only one analog stick, so to omit it in future games is simply inexcusable.
Now there have been games where I simply had to adjust so that I could beat (Portal comes to mind), and sure, when I get used to it then it can feel "natural" in a way where I don't complain to myself about being confused. But it's not a natural way to move my person, IMO. Just like if they got rid of look inversion, I would give up FPS games forever. These schemes don't make sense for my thumbs or for logical purposes, and I become an inferior gamer as a result, no matter how much I get used to them.

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
not all PS1 games will play on the 80GB PS3 and thats what I have right now.
In any event I still have a working PS1 and thats what I play my PS1 games on.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Edit; I do still do have all 65 PS1 games I own though. No way I was getting rid of those. Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
I think that the Battlefield series is terrific and does many things that Infinity Ward doesn't with the MW series (I don't even touch what Treyarch puts out). But for me, until I can see 60 FPS or an alternate control scheme that allows me to turn with the left-analog stick and strafe with the right-analog stick, it might as well be unplayable for me.

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
ps1 BC is still supported on all models. While it's true that some games don't work, or work right, any ps3 will still play a large percentage of the entire ps1 catalog.Comment

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
It sounds though like maybe some of the games he has don't play on his 80gig. I've heard there are a few AAA PS1 titles that either don't play or have a few issues when played, like Castlevania SOTN and FF7.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
I didn't realize that owning a PS3 meant you shouldn't/couldn't play PS1 games on a PS1 console. LOL

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
Correct. Plus, I honestly don't see a benefit in playing PS1 games on the PS3 vs playing them on the PS1 system.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
