Im not a big online fan for many reasons. The only socom I can play is on the PSP and thats not what I want. I want it on my LCD HDTV

I guess its time for another shooter game, a good military shooter to come out because im getting restless lol

SOCOM is the only one I haven't played on a console and they sold out for online only.. ugh

I wouldn't go as far as saying that. Fans were restless and needed something online for PS3 in this franchise, and while Zipper was off doing MAG, they allowed another company, Slant 6, to go with their own little version of SOCOM in some ways. So they seemingly took the SOCOM 3 engine and revamped it as a PS3 game and made it online only. Think of it like hot GT5 Prologue is a stripped down version of GT5, only SOCOM 4 (which is coming out later this year) will be developed by Zipper, the guys that gave you the first three, and they are planning on having a fully developed single player campaign. They assuredly won't "sell out" to us.

                Castle Crashers Update

                Dear Behemites,

We know you have been eagerly awaiting news on Castle Crashers for PS3, so here is an update for you!

Our indefatigable programmers have been working their little fingers to the bone to make this game perfect for you. We’ve completed our internal testing, courtesy of our new Testopia office, a wonderland of testing joy. We have now sent the title off to a 3rd party vendor for final testing before we begin the submission process with Sony.

“OK, great.. but when is it releasing? I must crash castles NAOW!!” you scream.

Hit the jump to find out and for screenshots /video featuring our own testers showing off some quick vball matches (Another new feature will be unveiled next week. Hint.. it involves Arena mode. what could it be???)

“We don’t know!” Says the mighty Chicken. “We hear you better when you don’t yell.” Much depends on how this final round of testing goes. But we are in the final stretch. And of course we will keep you posted when we know any firm, or even squishy dates.

In the meantime, more new info for you!

Trophies! Most of the trophies will be the same as the XBLA Achivements. To replace the “Glork” achievement from good ol’ All You Can Quaff, we have a new Volleyball trophy: “Social Networker.” Brush up on your social skills, as you will have to work with the other team to achieve an impressive number of volleys back and forth. Also, we’ve added a new Gold Trophy for those of you crazy enough to beat the game on Insane mode. This Trophy is called, appropriately, “You are Insane.”
                This sounds like good news.

I got that a while back here's what I did.
Try changing your primary DNS code to 129.250.35.250 and your secondary one to 129.250.35.251. I've had no problems since I did this. Hope this helps.

I got this tip from Playstation.com pretty common issue. Never knew exactly what it meant though. <!-- google_ad_section_end -->

I'm not sure what's going on with my connection, I know I have it set up correctly with my IP address, submask, DNS (I did try the ones you posted too chef, no dice), etc. It's been the same way for a while now. The weird thing is, it works just fine with if I connect wirelessly with the exact same network settings, just the wired doesn't work. Tomorrow morning when my wife is off the computer I'll try resetting the router and see if that does anything, as for tonight I'll just go wirelessly I suppose.

Fortunately wireless with the PS3 works fantastic. i have my PS3 in the bedroom wireless and I see know difference in lag with the exception of downloads.

If after you try the reset method it still doesn't work I'm sure we can all work to find a proper solution. Maybe even call sony?

yeah I've got a busy weekend so I won't be on too much anyway. If the problem doesn't resolve itself by Monday afternoon, I'll give Sony a call. Thanks.
